I do nothing but cardio. For some idiot reason I agreed to run a half marathon in June and a full marathon later this year. Prior to this the furthest I've ever run in my life has been ~3 miles and prior to a couple weeks ago I hadn't really exercised at all in years.

Hey Blue! Hello Gents.

FWIW at least a couple hours of steady-state cardio is great, but having at least three days a week of Tabata's is the nuts and it only takes 4 min per session (so no excuse not to do it). Plus, you don't have to go to the gym or spend anything on gear really. There are TONS of studies that go back to 1996, and nothing is remotely close to as effective.

and here is a free online clock

Or, you could just get sick like Killa.

Interval training is the best way to do that too actually. Learn to run the pace you want to do your half-marathon in, run that pace as long as you can...then run-walk until you can do the whole 13 miles or whatever. Take it slow...you will probably get there well before June. GOGOGOOGOGOGO
