I was in 7th grade when the OKC bombing happened. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard about it. I was in gym class and all the students were spread down the sidelines of the basketball court doing jumping jacks. I had just finished doing a set when a coach came by and started talking to another coach. He said to him, "did you hear about the bomb?" "Yeah, was that you?! lol" was the other coach's response.

I also remember the day Timothy McVeigh was executed. It was broadcast on closed circuit TV to the victims families, but wasn't open for public viewing. I was watching the public newscasts though and they were talking about how the procedure was going to happen, showed footage of newscasts from the day and following days of the bombing, and then announced when McVeigh was pronounced dead.

And then three months after his execution 9/11 happened. And on that day I remember waking up around 9 in the morning, turning on the tv and seeing the footage of the second plane flying into the world trade center. I was stunned. I then left to go play music with a couple people around 11 o'clock. I kind of remeber that time period as one blur. Timothy McVeigh's execution and 9/11. Two massive American events happening just three months apart.
