But excretion from the bovine mammary gland is soooooo delicious why would you want to decrease the ratio of that to seed water!?

Wisskers, are you the type of guy who swallows raw milk?
11-17-2017 , 12:18 PM
I haven't been on a dairy farm for about ~15 years. But in my youth I spent time on them daily, so yes I've put raw milk in my cereal, coffee, and mouth. It's better, but not that much different from pasteurized whole milk.

Is it worth the risk of tuberculosis and other communicable diseases?

**** no. The answer is ****. No.

I run all my milk through an autoclave just to be safe
11-17-2017 , 01:48 PM
Autoclaves usually run about 121C which is a bit hot for milk pasteurization. Usually something closer to 85C is used which kills all the live organisms but is a little too cold for extreme thermophiles and spores... but you Canadians do things differently. I can't imagine burnt milk tasting good.

Also small family farms have a lower chance of the types of diseases that you're taking about due to hands on inspection of the cattle. Drinking raw milk from an industrial farm is probably something I wouldn't do.

I buy my milk in a green carton, and that's about all I know.
11-17-2017 , 02:25 PM

Listeria isn't really that rare, is it? Just saying, there's a reason raw milk is regulated.

I autoclave everything before doing anything. The advantages are

listeria-hysteria
11-17-2017 , 04:56 PM
to kill any listeria that might be in my raw milk, I just add a splash of listerine
11-17-2017 , 05:09 PM
Good choice, very fresh.
