Well done.

Yeah, that's odd...might as well must make fried eggs at that point.

Wtf, so you want me to dirty another dish by breaking eggs in it then mixing them? Excuse me for being simple minded and thinking it doesn't matter when you mix them.

Also I like the differences that exist in white and yolk texture, so dropping on the pan then mixing gets some pure white solids then the yolk pieces

It is possible to be lazier. Break the eggs in a cup, wisk them, then microwave. They taste like ass, but that's what tomato sauce is for.

I definitely don't do that, anymore. Mainly because I don't have microwave.

I don't have one either.

Crack in bowl, add splash of milk, salt, and pepper.

Heat oil, add onion, garlic...then egg mixture.

Cook until mostly done add cheese if using, cover, and remove from heat.

But I can't eat cracked eggs that I cook. Watching the solidification causes me disquiet.

I just make them for kids and eat hard boiled.
05-12-2017 , 12:32 PM
Sadly, not joking. It is weird.
05-12-2017 , 12:37 PM
It obviously matters when you mix it inasmuch as the end product will be different, but if you enjoy the variety of later mixed eggs, that's obviously fine.

Eating only hard-boiled eggs is not fine tho. Eggs need to be made in a frying pan.

I thought people who actually liked eggs always ate poached or at least soft-yolked varieties.

Scrambled are what I make because I'm a mean mom who doesn't want to micromanage breakfast that hard.

Open Question: how many eggs do you go through in a week?
05-12-2017 , 12:46 PM
Usually ten-twelve depending on how fertile she is
05-12-2017 , 12:53 PM
So I just re-discovered sunny side up, and it is the easiest egg to cook... crack egg into pan on low heat, cover... 5 minutes later it's done.

I'm attempting to keep up with the 5 chickens I have. Before they started laying I only went through maybe a dozen a month... and mostly due to baking.

I'm pretty sure that's just for food snobs who don't actually enjoy eating & just enjoy talking about how cool they are.

Hey AIOTT, sous-vided any eggs lately? Or do you use your immersion circulator?

Lately? Mostly 0. No time at all during the week to prepare breakfast...just a rush of getting everyone ready, getting food into them & getting them out the door (with more food to eat in the car on the way). & on the weekend just been too worn out to make a nice breakfast.

Usually about 8...one weekend day a week I'll make scrambled eggs with fresh vegetables, bacon (usually turkey bacon :/), pancakes & sometimes hash browns, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, or something else.

Sunny side up is my favorite. Then after throw some more butter in the pan & fry up some bread & you're gtg.
