I think that 47 on intrade means a $47 bet pays $100, so those odds are better. Again, I don't know this for sure.
I hate to be "that guy" but here I go: The mainstream media* are wrong. They are vastly overestimating McCain's chances based on national polls, which are worthless. He could still win, but I'd put the chance at <25%. Nothing trends well for him, and he has to win every tossup state and defend in places like NC and IN where he shouldn't have to. He's in a heap of trouble. Also, the media don't want to report a bunch of "this thing's over, right?" stories so they act like it's closer than it is. They did the same thing in the primaries. Obama basically locked the nomination up on March 4 (I think that's the date. Whenever TX/OH was.) and the media kept acting like it was neck and neck until June because it was better for ratings and an "easier" story to report. So there.
* Anyone who says "mainstream media" a lot is not someone you want to be friends with.
