I'm not passionate at all, I'm pretty indifferent on if/how the US should intervene in Syria. I just think it's funny that the Secretary of State can string together a series of paragraphs like that when, "declassified CIA documents show that the United States was providing reconnaissance intelligence to Iraq around 1987-88 which was then used to launch chemical weapon attacks on Iranian troops and that CIA fully knew that chemical weapons would be deployed and sarin attacks followed"

He did give himself a bit of an out though, "It is also profoundly about who we are. We are the United States of America. We are the country that has tried, not always successfully, but always tried to honor a set of universal values around which we have organized our lives and our aspirations."

In related news, I wish people would teach us young'uns how all the Air Force-y bureaucratic stuff works. This was my first real PCS, and I just had zero clue what I was allowed to do/supposed to do. I never did get definitive guidance on what I can and cannot use my GTC for. My first EPR was a referral because I had no idea that I needed to schedule PT tests around my close-out date, and it delayed my SrA promotion by four months. I'm still pretty confused about how CJR's and reenlisting work.

The fact that all that crap is way more important to my career than actually doing my job, and yet no one ever trained me on it is somewhat annoying imo.

i am pretty awesome at bureaucratic stuff.... half my job was essentially enforcing bureaucratic rules and occasionally hitting people with the more esoteric ones for fun and zero profit.

that being said i like to crawl around in the afi's and use the rules for evil (usually my gain) and humiliate older nco's who never understood things like what day the actual first day of chargeable leave is....etc
