NO LIE: My wife's great aunt died 2 weeks ago--She squirreled away money and was cheap as hell. Her famliy is trying to find all her money, including her properties and a few small businesses she owned--they think she was worth over $3 million.

Once they get it all figured it will be split 5 ways, to her siblings or their survivors. So my wife's grandmother gets 20% of the total.

Beat: Didn't leave a will (refused to pay for a lawyer) or else grandma may have gotten 50%, between her and the other living sister.

2nd Beat: We're not seeing any money for years. Goes to grandparents & then my father-in-law; who does like me so that's a win there.

Variance: Dead aunt was nasty to just about everyone so the best thing she did was die.

When we found out I said, "It's a freaking movie plot--spitful old aunt with no kids dies and leaves a load of money. Now we just have to spend a night in a haunted house."

Case in point to her nastiness: my brother-in-law got a job with a lawn matience company that worked on her properties. For what ever reason she got pissed off at my brother-in-law and called his boss, then told them if they didn't fire him she would find a new company to do her property maintenance.

So she got her own nephew fired.

They fired a guy over one client? She must have been paying them alot.

Or maybe he sucked at his job and the boss agreed with the aunt.

One client with several properties. He didn't have a chance. And he does my lawn, so I know first hand he does good work.

Police: man downloaded porn during interrogation

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California man accused of downloading illegal images to his cellphone while being interrogated has pleaded not guilty to possessing thousands of child porn files.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports (http://*******/14KGzKm ) 48-year-old Walter Louis Gafvert III wept briefly during his court arraignment Friday.

Gafvert came under scrutiny in July when the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force told police about him. Investigators searched his home and found thousands of child porn images on a computer and cellphones.

Gafvert was arrested Wednesday.

Santa Cruz Deputy Police Chief Steve Clark said that when investigators searched a cellphone Galvert had on him during a police interview, they found he was actively downloading child porn.

The Boulder Creek man faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
