9x,67,jt,flopped sets

Is a favorable range for ur cause and its still not a call

Dude are you serious. To justify that call he practically has to be bluffing 100% of a time.
01-27-2013 , 05:01 AM
Wat? I agree its a terrible call

He has a 9 there never. He has a flopped set there never. His range is exactly 55, 67 & missed draws.

He has to be bluffing 1/3 of the time?

When I 1st posted the hand, tbh I was pretty sure I had misplayed it & just got lucky, but the more I go over it, & the more people tell me otherwise, I actually like it better.

I still think I have to cbet that flop, but as played I'm repping literally nothing. I might as well accidentally have shown him my cards (& he'd prob only be surprised that my cards were a tiny bit higher than expected).

So you're out of position against an opponent with crap. If you have a great hand, you value bet. If you have a marginal hand with showdown value, you bluffcatch. What range of hands do you immediately stick out $45 while shaking profusely & then try to stare me down while holding?

i don't think i would eat fish if i were pregnant. the mercury could pose a potential hazard to my bb
01-27-2013 , 05:23 AM
yeah no one would ever check top pair or a set looking for your cbet and then just call when they hit their trips/boat on the turn.

ur instincts that it was a bad call are dead on....

but you might have a point with the lollivetells

Definitely not a no1 ever thing. It's mostly a this guy is super excitable & not a great actor, & he really wasn't that interested until the river bet.

I think I'm also underestimating the amount of times he bluffs with better. That's a non-zero #, even if I discount the likelihood greatly due to the lack of reason to turn such a hand into a bluff in this particular instance.

I think based on reads & actions I'm good there about half the time, & all I need is around 30% iirc.

the stakes weren't high enough, it's thrown you off your game

save it for nvg
01-27-2013 , 05:40 AM
yeah i was gonna put that he could bluff with a 2 pair type hand but really that doesn't make much sense, and neither does value betting 2 pair the way the hand played out. ur looking at monsters and missed straight draws mostly.
01-27-2013 , 05:41 AM
think i might play some poker now

Was that the cat in the garage door thing? I got the post report, but the cat looked alive to me so I didn't do anything. Could have been a misread on my part tho. Dead cat wouldn't be funny.
