Religion is based on faith. If you can't accept that god exists on faith, you're out of luck since there is no empirical proof for Its existence. But there is plenty of evidence god exists that is as legit as the AA losing to 27 evidence that poker is rigged.

I'm not really sure we're talking about the same thing. Since you can't disprove god I'm sure there will always be religion of some sort. I was simply wondering, if hypothetically religions did not exist and there was no magic book telling people what is right and wrong what possible reason could they have to justify their actions.

are you referring to ppl in general or westoboro nuts? there are lots of non-bible books that aren't the literal word of god that ppl use to decide what's right or wrong and justify their actions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethics

Originally I was just talking about WBC but ok that's an example of sorts ty.
The difference to me is a non-religious book on ethics would not spout crap about going to hell and being judged by an almighty. So I find it hard to believe people would stoop to WBC lows.
