No other witnesses were asked to vouch for her story. I had a witness whose testimony corroborated with mine. I brought pictures and torn clothes, and she didn't bring anything.

My attorney wasn't prepared and did not do much to dispute the story. She said this incident occurred around 8 pm. This wasn't brought up in court: I have a receipt which would put me at the pet store at that time. The police report says 12:44 am and our 911 calls were placed after midnight.

She said I had attacked her and afterwards I went into the house yelling that I was calling the ****ing cops. They'll be able to see that a male called in court. I found out in court that the officer who I made the complaint to was the one who gave her all my contact information to press charges. This woman didn't even know my last name.

She also said her brother never touched me. This is what I got from her brother. He's charged with communicating threats and assault on a female

well that sucks. even if you don't win, karma will get them.

court appointed. i'm assuming he thought this would be an effortless case to get dismissed. the other lawyers i talked to also thought this would be pretty simple. the judge and the da just didn't want to mess with it

They didn't bother having their case heard in the district court and plead guilty so it could be tried in the superior court. This works to their advantage since they're facing other felony charges and could probably plea bargain to get the misdemeanors dropped

its all resting on you, the other person is fighting harder and your lawyer doesnt care so.. cry a lil in court is my best advice also talk about how it hurts ya know.

I believe the court could see that I was a small, intelligent and polite woman, but I live in North Carolina and I was the only minority involved. I'm going to talk to my lawyer one more time before I decide on a new one.

I have a baby face. I don't have to try. There's a lot of minorities that live here. This area is poor and most of the people here wear street clothes to court. It's kind of funny to see men with tucked in wifebeaters. I'm going against trailer trash, high school dropout, unemployed drug addicts. I'm hoping the middle class can relate to me.
