Who was the last president that was around only for 4 years in US?
11-06-2012 , 04:48 AM
Bush
11-06-2012 , 04:50 AM
Senior?
11-06-2012 , 04:54 AM
Ya, he lost his reelection bid to Clinton.
11-06-2012 , 04:57 AM
and prior to him it was Carter. In modern times it's very hard to not get re-elected. Many feel had Ross Perot not been on the ballot Bush would have been re-elected. So take that out of the equation and it's been once in 40+ years that a sitting prez hasn't won a 2nd term.

US needs a president on long term... I wouldn't be suprised if they make it up to 5 years for each mandate

Yeah but the same could be said of Nader in Bush v Gore, which would have been +1 in single term presidents.

There's a job I want so very bad and it's right there. Just gotta convince someone to give to me. Close as I care to be feeling like a politician.
