Why do you not hate the call?
11-02-2012 , 10:59 AM
Guess if K5s is in his shoving range you're doing ok actually.

QJs is a ******ed call imo. I mean, does he ever 4bet shove QT, Q9, JT? Flipping at best and it is woat.

I didn't see it but people seem to think from the way the match was playing out, that Merson would make a small reraise with his big hands, at least some, if not most of the time. With a little range tweaking it can become a marginally +EV call. And with the greatest respect, it may not have been a bad spot to play a big preflop pot in a marginally -EV spot anyway.

Not defending the play tho, 3betting a great hand like QJs to put yourself in that spot seems pretty terrible to me.

Well he did shove K5o after all

Look at Brickie... putting real thought into this. I am impressed.

I think that him seeing/hearing about some of the other hands impacted his decision making. Knowing that Merson was running some big bluffs before probably made him decide that the 3 bet was a good idea. Not sure what the pot size was vs stacks but not really sure he could fold after the 3 bet.

I really think I should go on Countdown. I've found some serious form of late. I don't think there's been a show in the last two weeks where I haven't gotten at least three 8+ letter words.
