Inflation causes money to be worth less. The middle class loses money through inflation. Bob Blue Collar makes 40k a year, and normally spends 15k a year on gas and food. Inflation causes the prices to rise though, so he now has to spend 25k a year. Inflation causes the middle class to become poor.
01-08-2012 , 07:39 AM
yes, that is the definition of inflation, whats ur point?
01-08-2012 , 07:40 AM
I agree, inflation is bad for you if you have all your money buried in a hole in your backyard.
01-08-2012 , 07:40 AM
That's quite a lot of inflation bro. Most people's wages rise somewhere in line with inflation imho.
01-08-2012 , 07:40 AM
what has core inflation been running at for the pst few years?
01-08-2012 , 07:40 AM
during the 90's we had highest hyper inflation ever in the world here... that was so crazy! prices would change in real time so basically what you buy at morning doesn't cost the same at afternoon or in the evening
01-08-2012 , 07:40 AM
That is my point, and I have connected the dots for you sir.

also, in economical terms - inflation is good and much better than deflation. every economy wishes and strive for an inflation (a minimum one, but still inflation)

no u havent, inflation is very low right now, through qe1, qe2, and what might be qe3, and 0% fed funds rate for the forseeable futre, we are still in a deflationry rish zone if we double dip, which feasibly is a bigger problem to the econmy than what we are dealing with now
