i watched/read something about that. corporations lobbying governors to privatize prisons and keep laws as strict as possible.

s'all good. bleeded his head, broke some stuff. neck brace.

he was 2 days away from retirement so my mom said he did it on purpose so he could avoid all the goodbye's and good luck's.

most prisons are private these days to reduce financial pressure on the government which in turn makes sending people to prison profitable which in turn leads to corporations lobbying/buying off judges to be more harsh and ignore the law sending more and more low income people to jail because they cant afford lawyers
now im off to google to find some articles of corrupt judges being bought off

I wonder how the states rank for persons in prison per capita ... my money is on Texas, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see MI high on the list.

I think only one or maybe 2 southern states have forced labor, iirc there was a federal case made when Alabama tried to bring back "chain gangs" a couple years ago b/c some thought it violated the cruel/unusual statute of the Constitution.

just imagine for every judge who is caught how many more are getting away with the same exact thing further corrupting the legal system

You shouldn't have to look too hard to find that case in Ny where a juvenile judge was getting kickbacks to send kids to a privatized juvenile center ... I think he got 45 years in prison.
