I'm not super hype for football this year I'm not super hype for football this year

Mostly because of all the concussion shizz. Most years I buy NFL gamespass and watch several games a week, but the past few years it feels more and more ethically dubious to support an industry that's taking a savage toll on its players. I'm still gonna hedge considerably by watching weekly games on broadcast TV, but I'll def get more of my sports fix from hockey and sumo.

Anyone else in the same boat? Am I just being a Pollyanna here? Is there a case to be made that the players are okay with the risks of what they do therefore the fans shouldn't feel bad about watching them go out and play?

I'm with you. Every year I am more and more about watching college anyway. I hear that younger skulls are softer.

The way I see it, att least with college ball the guys are only playing for a few years and the hits aren't nearly as brutal. ofc, college sports have their own problematic labor issues.

I know the players aren't supposed to get paid, but I feel the pretense of an education makes up for it. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; give a man a communications degree from Clemson, I assume he gets some cabinet-level appointment or something.

handegg is an absolutely archaic game that needs to end. any parent that signs a permission slip letting their kid play it should be locked up and have their kid sent to an orphanage for the rest of their lives
