Anyone doing anything special for the solar eclipse? It's supposed to be 89% obscured in my neck of the woods, so I figure why not take the day off and have a road trip to somewhere in Kentucky to get the full 95% experience.

Its an 8 hour drive for me but I think I'm going to make the trip weather permitting. I have heard that u can stars at the peak coverage.

Yes, in fact one of the first experimental tests of Einstein's Theory of Relativity was to look at the deflection of starlight that passed close to the sun. Of course, this can only be done when the sun's light is obscured during a total eclipse.
