new 5/10 game that started an hour before this hand occurred

2000 effective

V1: middle aged loose rec. very loose passive pre. stuck ~3k in the game after one hour and is pretty tilted. just got caught bluffing a couple of hands ago after raising a bet on the river when he missed his draw. got called and mucked his hand.

V2: old guy in his 70s. straight forward abc player.

utg+1 raises to 30
utg+2 calls
V1 calls next to act
fold to hero on the BU who 3bets to 170 with TT
V2 cold calls the 170 from SB
bb, utg+1, utg+2 all fold
V1 calls 170

3 way to the flop

Flop($580): 677dd
V2 checks
V1 checks
hero bets 280
V2 folds
V1 check raises to 600

hero?

call; re evaluate turn. Intention of folding turn such as: 6, 8, 9
As played, V1 could have any pairs from 44'S to 88's imho but also flopped sd. If he s weak and ontilt he might be the type of guy to min raise "for info" with a naked 6, + connectors can def be part of his range

Only problem is that we have less than a psb left on turn...are we really folding that many turn cards? Just wondering if shove is a huge overplay given remaining stacks (I think it is, but wondered what you guys think).

All in. I just don't think you have enough behind to make nitty folds pretty much on any turn.

If you call, pot has 1800 and 1200 behind.

At 3k or more effective, I am tempted to just call and play some turns

Not a mandatory 3b pre

I would not 3b here. Not a spot to be 3-betting linearly imo

I think 3bet is fine in most live games where even the "good" regs are opening super wide even from EP, like 22+, A2s+, 78s, 98s, T9s, JTs+, KQo+, AJo+ and I think that's a pretty conservative estimate; a lot I find are opening even wider than that.

But yes I agree if you 3bet TT here it's an exploitative 3bet and I think TT vs UTG+1 open and UTG+2 call is a pure call.

utg+1 opens, and gets 2 calls. It’s gotta be tempting to try and pick up that 105 right here with a 3bet. I like set mining with smaller pairs maybe 88- but I do like the preflop squeeze in this spot. If u just call u really are set mining most of the time and TT should give u more value than that imo.

As played I call the check raise.
