$2-5 game in NH card room (first time playing in the room) 6-max due to COVID-19 restrictions. full ring, session has been going about 45 minutes and villain has been extremely tight. he’s raised pre 3x, gotten to showdown once and had KK. effective stacks $1.1k. mandatory straddle
hero: KsQs $30 UTG, villain $105 OTB, SB/BB fold, hero calls.
figure pre is standard, please advise if not
K43r, me: check, villain:check
checking all hands back to original 3B here, when he checks back I think a lot of his range is 99-AA, AJs-AK, maybe the occasional Ax suited wheel hand, based on his play doubt heÂ’s the type of player to 3B 45 suited, 78 suited, suppose itÂ’s possible
turn 10x, me $85 villain: call, POT: $390
river 4x, me $150, villain $450, hero: call? fold? kill self?

before answering snap call, snap fold, can you come play in my home game?, I am just very interested in hearing the logic behind why I should be doing a certain decision. This is my first time posting in several years and my first time playing in 3-4 months due to COVID

Fold pre. You can call the 3-bet vs. a standard villain, but if you peg him as extremely tight, KQ is a fold here (reverse implied odds).

ty, makes sense. I thought of the Dwan KQss vs. Greenstein AA hand and did not want to disappoint Dwan by folding KQss out of position pre :-)

Preflop is meh. I mean 45 minutes, not a huge sample size, but this is a pretty decent sized 3 bet (3.5x) and we aren’t all that high up in our range. I think we can fold here.

The younger the villain, the more likely I am to call here. He definitely has some gutters that could’ve gotten to the river this way. Especially if he turned a flush draw, though it seems like the board is a full rainbow.

From there, what’s he saying he has? TT is what he’s repping hard. KK as well, but that’s 1 combo. AA could sometimes play this way. So can A4s. AK...maybe.

It’s close. I do know bluff raises are rare like at any house, but I’ve seen a few of them in New Hampshire.

This is just bad advice

He is extremely tight:
- has he raised only once in 45 mins?
- is it his first 3bet?

if so; and not knowing your opponent; I think you can fold pre if you are not comfortable in those spots.

On the river; if every rec is unknown and seen as ABC; your K is a bit face up...
As played; you are getting 1:3.1 on the river but it also means he does not have a lot of bluffs. is 300$ a big absolute value in your game? you also block top of the range you beat ie QQ..

realistically in a home game I might be weak but i fold river or I sometimes check to avoid this and protect my checking range on the river. We are at the top of our medium strength range. I would cc river or bet fold

ah yea because he should not be value betting worst hand so his raison is quite polarized. Without info we should consider him as ABC and fold
