Hero ($1300) HJ with K♦️T♠️ calls $5, BTN (Very TAG has preflop 3 bet $15 raises to $80-$110 a few times) raises $20. BB calls, Hero calls. Flop K♠️3♣️T♥️ BB checks, Hero checks, BTN ($1150) raises $30, BB folds, Hero check raises to $90. BTN calls, BB folds. Turn K♥️ Hero (King’s full/Nuts) checks to show impression of weakness of not having the king and Trying to steal on the flop with strong T or bottom 2. Villain raises 100. Hero calls. River A♦️ Hero checks Villain raises 200, Hero raises 550, Villain raises all-in 850. Hero calls. Villain shows A♥️K♣️

Put him on range of AK, KQ, KJ, JQ based off pre flop button raise and post flop raise/3betcall. JQ removed from his range on his turn bet. I’m ahead of 67% of his range on the river which is why I raised on the river for EV. I think I should have raised river first to act, and if re-raised potentially get away/call lower bet, or as played just called the river bet of $200 and showdown with second best hand as his range included AK and the rest of his range would have just called my reraise. I knew he had AK when he reraised as KQ and KJ would have flat called, but had to call the $300 with the $2000 pot. Thoughts?

RAISE PRE

He called the check-raise on the flop, so lead the turn $150 to build a pot with a big hand.

Don't show results.

Ultimately, it's a cooler, but you played it incorrectly, so you may have had Karma against you.

I'd get behind folding as well. But both are clearly better options than limping this hand in any circumstance where we've yet to commit $.

Also OP, when there's no money being wagered on a street of play, it's not a raise, it's a bet.

And you must must must be betting this turn for value.

So yeah preflop: pretty bad. Turn: very bad.

this hand is a disaster and OP you should post this hand (and prob more hands to improve) in the LLSNL forum.
