Loose 5-5 game played 10-handed $1500 effective stacks
4 of 10 players drinking hard, money gettin in loose n fast
Villain in this hand is Best player at table- a reg TAG, seen him make big laydown after big laydown over the past few months.
our history is one where I’ve gotten so many river bluffs through on him (and showed most of em) he calls me down light a lot recently
1st hand I played in session about 5 mins in... had been railing for a bit until seat opened
UTG +1 hero dealt 9s9c opens to $25
Cutoff calls
Villain on Button raises to $75
Hero calls
Cutoff folds
Flop 9dAhQs
Hero checks
Villain checks
Turn Qc (Yahtzee)
Hero bets $125
Villain calls
Pot at $425
River Kh
Hero bets $350
Villain raises to $900
Board 9dAhQsQcKh
Seems like an easy call to me initially, but what do I beat? J-10 suited for rivered broadway? A-K? Q-J?? Basically nothing
What am I missing ?
Thoughts??

Tbh I probably check and call this river, but there are much better players than me here. It’s a bad card for your range and your exact hand. Feels like it would be nice to have some boats check.

So this deep u gotta be careful w your ranges and while your absolute hand strength is quite good he just has so much nutty combos here
If his 3b% is low it’s a pretty easy fold I think bc he has to show up w some hands like j10s for value or bluffs like k10 or smth

^ ya villain has nutted combos but we have all 99 and AQ and we actually have more nutted combos on the turn specifically given that 3ways on the flop villain is less likely to check back AA, and almost never to check back AQ/QQ/Q9s/99. Not to mention we have just as many Qx or maybe even more as villain does. So I don't think we need to be careful betting this turn.

On the river, yeah I agree we need to be careful with our range. Villain has more KQ given he can 3bet KQo pre whereas we should be folding it to his 3bet, he has KK, and then some AA/AQ traps. However, he can still have Ax that checked flop, as well as potentially some straights and some KJ type hands that can call a river bet.

Your river bet is way too big. Only our AQ wants to bet this big for value on the river. We should be betting smaller like 1/4-1/2 pot; we want his Ax and Kx to call (not just his Qx and check backed JT)

Facing this river raise after we bet so big I think we have an easy fold (if we assume he's raising JT for value after he checks back flop then whatever call but I think this is ridiculously unlikely). I feel like this is not bluffed enough, especially when we use such a huge sizing on the river.

Villain is representing boats or a bluff (or at least he should be) and 99 doesn't block any of his value, and actually blocks some of his potential bluffs 9x bluffs (which block our 99) therefore we would rather call with Qx than 99 as it has better removal. Anyways all of that is a moot point as I don't think this line is bluffed nearly enough and I would only call the river with AQ and KQ

tl;dr nh until the river, bet river small, now easy fold

Edit: I prefer betting this river small rather than x/c as I don't think we gain much value from bluffs as almost all his potential river bluffs have some showdown value and therefore it will be underbluffed imo
