5/10 game villain opens utg to 30$ he has effective stack 600$
Folds around to hero in bb call with Qd8d
Flop comes AcQh8s
I check .. villain bets 30$ .. check raise to 90$ villain calls
Turn is 7s bring back door flush
I bets 120$ into 220$ gets check raised to 250$
Villain has about 250$ left so I jam
River is a brick and he shows AsQs

My question is this just a cooler or could we have played the more cautiously or passive ??

Idk if you wanna build a x/r range on aq8 vs utg I like just x/c down and x/r with only like aq+ for value (you’ll call the utg 3x w aq a lot more than 3b

As played you could fold to turn raise if u have strong read that he’s never doing this with worse. Which he’s not.

Also, when you bet and someone raises you, thats not called a “check raise”. Sorry had to pile on. This is tough love dude.
