500, V covers. 1/3 live.

V is a rec who I've played 2/5 with. 2/5 isn't currently running. He plays very very wide pre, loose but more reasonable post. I would say he's somewhere between passive and aggressive, I've definitely seen him bluff a few times, one of them was in a weird spot.

I would expect his range preflop to include almost any two suited cards within 3, almost all offsuit one gappers, some marginal offsuit two gappers like t8o, so possibly every two pair combo on this board by the river, definitely all the suited combos, but also a ton of pair+draw hands that will miss.

OTTH:

Hero opens AA+1 to $15, v calls the BB.

Flop: Q87r

x, H$20, v calls.

Turn 6r: pot:64

x, H$40, v calls.

pot: $144

River K

x, h$40, v $140, h calls.

So my reasoning behind the river sizing was to induce bluff raises from guy who can play a little spazzy as well as get calls from a lot of the lower parts of his unusually wide range. I would expect him to fast play a lot of his value on by the turn, and the K doesn't help most of his range so I can bet/call here. Against his raise I have to be good here about 23% of the time to call.

Thoughts?

If we are getting small to induce bluffs and bet/call to control somewhat river sizing when we are beat then we can't fold here , however not many bluffs when he takes this line with small c/r river sizing

I bet more on the turn, maybe even overbet, cause hell have a lot of straight draw gut shot and open ended that hes gonna call. Like 90.

AP, good plan and well played

i normally check river here, the turn completes the straight and two pairs, honestly scared of river check raise.

now our AA is basically a bluff catcher.

Seems like you got your wish. I'd fold but your read says call.

I also like a large turn bet. Small bet to induce isn't something I do because the population really underbluffs, it should be fine if he turns a weak hand into a bluff a lot.

Your 1/3 NL game plays nothing like mine if an EP open gets this HU in position. Nice result.

With this huge SPR against ABC face-up calling stations we can simply bet/fold x 3. Against this guy (whom I'm guessing is capable of pulling some stuff) I'm not sure I'd lean to that line. So I might mix in a check somewhere (on the flop or the turn) and be happy if he gives me 2 streets / is induced to bluff.

As played, I'd probably mix in my check on the turn especially since he did call a fairly dry flop and like one of the only draws got there on the turn.

One of the problems I have with the river is that this board should smack our EP raising range (even our barrelling AK got there) so it doesn't seem like quite the board for our opponent to be getting out-of-line here (even to a small bet, but it could also look like we're just trying to eke some value out of something on a board that smacks us in the face and there are few worse hands that can call).

ETA: Is this guy a winning player at these stakes? In general, I'm not happy when 5 bets go into a pot with one pair against a winning player (or even against a decent amount of losing players) and overall I feel this pot is way too big given our hand (one pear) and the way we've played it (straightforward ABC raisefromEP/bet/bet/bet).

Result: hero calls and loses to K8o.

He's hardly ever betting pot with worse than one pair, especially someone who's "reasonable post" on a flop that can contain a lot of two pair combos in his range. His bluffs are gonna be less than a psb based on his read as a passive/aggressive rec.
