Man Miami that is a solid tip.

Jrr I like your commitment. I think the 9/9/9 play is fine in a vacuum but you can't go wrong with 729 tickets. Is this a GTO vs. exploitable situation?

DGAF if it doesn't chop it's actually +EV to play at this point. If you had $800M you could make people fold 53s!

Spoiler:
Or you wouldn't care if they didn't anyway

Had a thought today: I'm essentially colleagues with these dealers. We share a professional, work relationship. I effectively have over a hundred professional-type relationships. Never had anything like that before, and it's great

I just want more after-work relationships with them now, since it's fun to contrast the two

I actually won $1500 once at Keno sitting at breakfast in LV, but I'd been up all night and did not track the pattern I used. I'm sure I'd hit on the perfect strategy unconsciously and if I'd only noted the strategy at the time I'd be as rich as Trump by now. But fortunately I have the winning strategy for powerball, thanks to Miami for correcting my oversight.

Guys, if you like Making A Murderer, go watch The Staircase right now.

I joined some joke lotto group a few years ago when it was like this. I also bet the ring leader of the group on some basketball game that night. I won the game, no idea about the lotto (for some reason I think our numbers baby cashed if that's possible), and I never saw him again (despite seeing him like twice a week for 2 years straight, sharing fatherhood stories/pics at the table, etc). I sent him some texts and he finally replied something like, "What are you going to do about it?" And that was that...

Good luck tho and don't sleep too hard on the lucky numbers imo, I mean at least do the math on the relationship between how overplayed they are vs how much more likely they are to hit than the weaker numbers. Also...

Spoiler:
Cluster if you like money.

I am so amazed by the layers of bias that come in from all different angles. Even the judge appeared to be in on it and favored the prosecution at almost every turn. I honestly just don't think he did it. I mean WTF in almost every murder there is motive. This guy is happy and so relieved to be out of prison after 18 years and then he kills some girl for no reason AND buries her in his own yard. Gimme a break, even he didn't seem to be that stupid. And the lack of one drop of her blood found in the bedroom or any of her DNA, and the stupid key and bullet that miraculously show up later. The defense attorneys were awesome and so logical it seems insane that there was not reasonable doubt. The coercive tactics were stupid obvious too and all on videotape for the kid. Disgusting.
Spoiler:
have you read all the theories yet? A lot of people in the Avery clan seem possible, as do the brother and ex-bf (and maybe the roommate?), but the sex club theory is most interesting I think. I would def bet on it (at the huge price it deserves). I mean that would explain the most mind boggling thing of all- so many people in the legal system seemingly working together to not reveal the truth (if they were all members). Idk, the setting for all this (that part of Wisconsin) just seems like foreign land to me. And American society's overly conservative (imho) stance on sex in general contributes plenty to people doing some real crazy **** behind the scenes...

Are you talking about the Paradise Lost with the murdered kids? I started it but the subject matter is awful enough that I won't continue unless you confirm it is good.

And BTW, MRI scans were negative so it looks like I am just a big pussy with Bell's Palsy which is fine by me.

That's the one. Agreed, I almost didn't watch but someone told me I needed to. It was v v good (in v subtle ways iirc). I think there were 2 follow up films. And maybe 'Whitey' was made by the same people?

I thought 'Whitey' was interesting too.

edit: congrats on the scan

Yeah I thought is was good but not as interesting as murderer. It is amazing how Arkansas 1994 seems like it could be 1894. They all just seem special ed.

Spoiler:

This one was different because the main villain is so creepy and I think he did it as apposed to Avery who seemed reasonable and I think is innocent. I mean wearing black and listening to metal is 1/2 the guys in my high school but this dude was off. The way he is obsessing over his hair and really gives off a feel of someone who has no soul. I mean they have cameras on him and he says "I want to strangle him" while talking about the attorney. I mean just a complete lack of situation awareness. Like, bro, you do realize you are on trial for murder? The best line in the whole show though was when his attorney had enough of him after he admitted to "spacing out and sort of half paying attention" while he was in the middle of his own testimony. His attorney was like "maybe they will only half kill you." LOL

Well I woke up on Saturday daunted by the immensity of the task of buying 579 tickets, so I decided I had to "abort mission" (a phrase often used by the noted poker commentator Robocop). Fortunately the pot of gold is still there.

Unfortunately the magic formula incorporating seat number, date and number of tickets won't work for the 13th, so I'll have to consult some references and come up with a new formula.

So picking #13 for powerball is a given yes?

My biggest fear is hitting it with #13 on the 13th, seems like you're just asking for monkey paw type repercussions.

Well it's hard to read the powerball omen, since 13 was the power ball Saturday the 9th. It could be some sort of "transfer code" where 9=13, then you have to figure out the right progression to pick the correct powerball number for the 13th.

I definitely understand the cautionary note about hitting it with 13 on the 13th.

Fortunately I found this reference that ameliorates the concern (and it was on the "Sacred Scribes" website, so must be reliable):

"The Number 13 is a karmic number and is the number of upheaval so that new ground can be broken. The number 13 has great power. If this power is used for selfish purposes, it will bring destruction of the self, and in turn, this will bring dis-ease and illnesses. Adapting to change gracefully will bring out the strength of the 13 vibration, and decrease any potential for the negative"

Well for my situation there is no comparison - Vegas mid to high stakes games during WSOP are the nuts compared to poker games in Arizona during that time (or any time for that matter).

It will be interesting to hear from guys in areas where mid-high stakes games are running regularly.

Movie buffs itt

What are some good movies where the main character was once powerful / important / known but now has fallen from grace and isn't recognized by common citizens?

Kind of like Gladiator. More like Man in the Iron Mask

Hey, thanks for asking. I am doing so much better. The pain is nearly gone and the viral syndrome feel bads are way better. The face is moving fairly well and my eye can almost close so the vision is better and I can drive again. Been able to play some online and focus is ok. Tomorrow is return to the hospital work so that will be a pretty big test. I think I am about 80% so that should be good enough.
