2/5 game a straddle and double straddle of 20 is on, quite rare in this game,
so UTG villian raises, he is a TAG player and just doubled up recently, 1100 effective, folds to me on BUT i have QQcd i decide to flat
Folds around to him and we are heads up,
Flop is 762ssd he bets 65 and i call,
Turn is 7624ssdd he bets 175 and i call,
River is 7624Qssdds he checks, and i tank bet 420,
He tank shoves for 460-480 more

What should I do? And is my line okay?

The odds are too good to fold. If he made it 1800 you might have a decision. Granted at 2/5 you’re rarely gonna see a c/r bluff on river, especially on this board, but this is basically a minraise and ur hand is extremely underrepped so whatever

Two other random comments: the abbreviation for the button is BTN, not BUT lol. Also if you add up the bets, you get an effective stack size of about 1200, not 1100, so one or the other must be wrong.

Jam or r/c turn (I like jamming a lot more).

As played not folding given price/he can maybe have worse value

my question then becomes, do i ever play QQ like this preflop or is this a mandatory 3bet on the button?
I feel like this "error" may have opened the doors for this scenario.

IMO its ok to call a small percentage of the time against nittier opponents who have super tight opening/3b ranges. But in general, this should be an easy 3b the majority of the time.

Checking the river is bad. Villain is x/c plenty of worse hands.

We probably don’t have many worse value bets and we don’t block any of villains value. I don’t see any theoretical reason to defend this hand to the x/r.

In practice villains are never x/jamming worse value and are rarely if ever bluffing. Folding the bottom of our value range to a raise is fine.

Fold, but as a side note, it's pretty likely that the guy would bet first with almost anything that's calling 420. It's boring, but in a spot where you haven't developed a dynamic where you're getting called by KK here, it's probably best to bet half the pot or less. I'd still fold to the c/r in either case.

I don't like river sizing...You're overrepping your hand here. You want a set or over pair to call you here. Raise/call turn is totally fine too.

Pre flop with the straddle I am still fine with calling or raising...It is certainly not mandatory to raise against an utg open, especially live.

you are 50bb with the straddle on. Calling preflop is all sorts of wrong. 3bet is mandatory.
