5/10 $20 straddle nlh at aria. 4K effective UTG raises 80, utg +1 calls, I have KK black in hijack make it $360. Folds around utg+1 flats. Flop 10 c 8H 6s. Checks I check back. Turn 4c villan betts our $520. I call river is 3h villain bets $1500. Villain is a tough reg I have not seen him make any big river bets without having it. At first glance folding seems absurd given the action but I think maybe I can call without the king of clubs and fold with it? I did have the king of clubs and ended up calling. He had 88 which is clearly a big part of his value I just don’t know how many bluffs he has.maybe down betting this flop is better?

If you want discussion of a hand it's better to not post results in the OP. FWIW I would bet the flop rather than check back in the situation described.

Check back is fine

Would like some reasoning here.

If I check the flop (which I don't), it'd be to trap call turn & river bets. Now that it worked, I'm calling river.

That being said, why aren't you betting the flop when checked to with Kings in a 3 bet pot, heads up, with tons of hands that can call with worse in villains range?!?! Don't say "pot control" as it doesn't apply here imo.

It’s a hi frequency bet
checking some hands like this is fine to mix it up and protect checking range

Sometimes you just have to pay the man his monies... I would’ve bet flop and (if still given chance) jammed turn... but would have been exact same result
