Full game that's been playing a bit splashy. 3 spots are open-limping, calling 3 bets and check folding flop regularly. They are also doing some funky bet sizes and making moves, seemingly without any reasoning that makes sense (button clicking). The spots are only important from an optics standpoint -- if you are astute, you'd notice me and another guy at the table isolating them and pouncing.

Hero in the game has a solid image and is sitting on $1450.

I've only been sitting with villain for a couple of hours, but he seems solid. No big moves. Nothing crazy to note. He's 50ish white man, $950.

2 of the spots limp, I 3 bet AJ to $40 on the button. Villain in BB 3 bets to $125. Folds around to us. Action?

Call.

We are deep and in position and face a medium sized 3bet. Our hand plays well in position and would be too strong to 5bet fold and basically a bluff vs a solid villain.

always a call for me
suited broadways tend to over-realize their equity ip
if you want to 4b, pick hands that are just outside your calling range with blockers to his premiums or good playability in 4b pots

Fold seems good to me. We don't quite have enough backdoors to float, maybe if you were like 3k deep? Assuming you are raising button with stuff like 87s you can continue here with BDFD + gutshot and better draws and all pairs and that should be plenty I think. I wonder if others think this is a float. The K that gives us a gutshot on the turn even helps villains range more than ours.

Seems like pot will be almost 500$ and you'll only have like 700$ behind effective. Not enough room to make moves like shoving over the bet on the turn or even the ultimate call call shove river move (which I love cause its so sick strong)

Fold.

Villain is solid, no crazy moves and had 4-bet pre. Why are we floating? After floating the effective stack to pot ratio is barely 1.5.

fold
would float AKs with bdfd and defend JJ and mby some TT
otherwise you got plenty of tp to continue

especially against this villain, fold. In addition to above, we could be up against AQ and looking real bad.

Call preflop is good. His range might be a little wider than normal re-isolation bet here given he probably thinks you would bet wide here because that seems to working and he's out of position. Also, stacks are deep enough where nut flush draw has a lot of value so price is good enough to call.

Fold on the flop. You're behind basically his entire range with basically nothing good going on except back door nut flush draw and backdoor straight draw. If you hit your ace you could lose big because he's probably playing AQ and AK maybe even AJ the same way. I think A10 is unlikely. I think big pairs are still in his range and apart from KJ I think your behind his entire range and you can't be sure your outs are good apart from backdoor flush and straight draws. There are basically no draws here so unlikely your ace high will be good at showdown.

Sizing pre tho

40 is too much unless your limpers are super deep, it's also arguable if we should have a re raising pre. We could go 250 pre and this hand gets a lot better for us imo but we actually dont have to have a 4bet range but if we do this is a great hand to have

30 pre, Not folding either street as played

I'm in the fold camp. Vs range rates to be very strong here and we're just not high enough in our range to warrant a call.

Wasn't ready to fold just yet, as I'm thinking that villain bets his entire range + we have position + we are getting 4-1 + we have some good turns that could make things interesting

Hero floats

Pot [$492]

Turn [3] Q 6 4

Villain checks

What sizing do you like?

Villain's calling range is likely inelastic on this board and any reasonable runout due to 0 threat of draws coming in from our range so it probably doesn't matter too much where you spread the rest of the money out to try and make villain fold.

Also would just fold flop with spr and meh backdoor potential.

Check

But your betting range should be mostly going for 1/3 with some bigger sizing mixed in w some parts of ur range
Aj on this turn has a little sdv and just doesn’t fit in well with a bluffing range

the board is dry as can be so our value bets can't be much higher than 40ish% then we can polarize on the river with an 80% bet

this is a tough spot because we actually can have the best hand a lot so AJ high can be a value bet, definitely a standard spot to fire away

when he calls we are looking to bet any JKA on the river, paired boards aren't great for us, his range to call you on the turn is going to be one pair heavy, something like 77-TT and you have to figure the K as being live and completing your range

prolly checking back paired boards and betting any 9+, and deciding ingame on the rest
