50-100 nlh with 100 bb ante

Gonna post this one briefly. I could elaborate on how I found a seat in this game, what the lineup looked like, etc but just looking for thoughts on the hand itself.

50-100 100 bb ante 8 handed: folds to cutoff (25k stack) who opens to 300, folds to me in sb (9k stack) i call with K4ss, bb (30k stack) calls.

Flop K64ccs, i check, checks around.

Turn Tx, i check, bb bets 400, cutoff folds, i raise to 1400, bb calls.

River 9x, i check, bb checks.

Obv im good. Just curious if I should’ve led turn or check raised larger. Of course I missed a ton of value not betting river for value. Bb didnt show but if I had to guess I think he may have had KJ.

I'm leading turn more often than not. Results oriented, you prob got better value by checking. River is closer than turn as played.

Re: 50-100 nlh with 100 bb ante

Even with antes I don't think you can profitably call K4s in the SB, especially vs a 3x open (even vs a minraise it's still a fold imo unless the BB is incredibly passive).

This hand doesn't play very well as a x/r vs the CO as you're often going to isolate yourself to really good combo draws and hands that destroy you.

It doesn't play that great as a x/r vs the BB either but at least BB has all the suited 2 pair combos you still beat and more flush draws/straight draws and also it's no longer 3ways if you x/r just the BB so it's not as thin.

So for those reasons I'd lead turn, but once you check, BB bets, and CO folds, you gotta x/r.

As played river it's starting to get a little thin but I think you have to bet. He can still call T6s, T4s, 64s, T9cc, and some Kx. I'd bet/fold about half pot.

3b/fold pre. flop is fine. either ob turn or cr massive if villain bets turn after flop check often. prolly pile river.

Re: 50-100 nlh with 100 bb ante

My thoughts

1. Fold pre.

2. I prefer a turn bet or turn check call. I think c/r turn on this board will require a lot of thought and planning to play rivers without getting owned. So many rivers are bad for you. Trying to construct bet turn, check call turn and check raise turn ranges out of the SB 3 way is a lot of work imo. Much easier to do that in BB because you will have a lot more hands to choose from for each range.

3. I like the river check. For one, he has 78o which you should never have. He also have QJo which you shouldn't have but given your k4s call may be you do have it. You also block top pair that can bluff catch. He has very clear bluffing candidates available to him ..his missed flush draws. Otoh, it's not clear what and how often you should be bluffing.

Fold pre, lead or c/r turn are both fine. I’d probably lead. As played bet river for sure.

Re: 50-100 nlh with 100 bb ante

I'm leading for 700-800 on turn in this spot. We have a good number of non showdown drawing hands that we want to bet out with and possibly double barrel, so I'm probably not x/r many hands at all here.

River spot is sort of why I don't like the turn x/r. Pretty tame card, and all options feel a little awkward. x/c is meh after we show such turn strength, x/f is sort of funny, and betting is sort of rough after the turn play and some of our perceived bluffs getting there. Maybe a small bet of 15-1700? Really not sure.

Anyways pre is just a fold but peeling for 2.5x more and the antes in there isn’t that ugly but it’s still prolly losing
Turn is a super easy lead you’ll have tons of semi bluffs
River is just another bet for value

you picked a really weird hh to take this stance on, this is kinda the epitome of 3b/fold pre lol. I am folding a giant % of the time, but if I am somehow continuing, flatting is pretty atrocious.

Pre obviously calling with you're stack size is the worst option, and it's not even close. If you add 10k to your stack and bb isn't a squeezer it's fine. On the river I'd lead for half pot. The hand as played is fine, although it can't be stressed enough how bad flatting pre is short stacked in an ante game.

Re: 50-100 nlh with 100 bb ante

Last time I saw a monker solver sim with antes it had included this in 3b range sb v co (it had some kxmx qxmx combos)

I can get on board with a 3b but cc oop hu seems spewy unless villain is absolute re-****in-tard
