Brand new table 2 orbits In.

Villain mawg new table so super early. But he has opened twice to 8x and both times shown down pocket 10’s and pocket 8’s. No other reads have seen him
In the room before.

Hero mawg again no image other than folded every hand for two oribits to open the table

$800 effective villain covers 10 handed

Hero in co with K9ss

4 limpers including villain so I overlimp. Thought of squeezing but late position opens have been getting called down so far. So I decided to iverlimp. And gambool and button calls

Flop ($60)

A99r

Checks to hero bet 40. Only villain calls

Turn 5c ($140)

Villain check
Hero bets $85
Villain calls

River 4c (no flush possible)

Villain checks
Hero bets $200
Villain counts out 200. Ask what I have behind. I tel him ~500. He tanks. Then shoves

Hero??

Sorry I think this is almost a snap call. Nothing makes sense, even A9 is questionable w/ how he played it.

What's V's position? If he's in the BB it's suddenly a lot tougher call (94 suddenly make sense), but think we still should.

8x raise with 88/TT could be an indication he sucks. Did he table TT and 88 at showdown or did he table without needing to show people to say "I'm not FOS, see?". Important clue like that could help us get an early read that he's not a pro and help us make a call. Don't want to read too much into it obviously, but have to use what we have.

As much as I hate the live tell of tank shoving he could easily be doing this with worse and you only need 500/1600 = 32% equity for the call to be good.

79s, 89s, T9s, J9s maybe even Q9s and some offuit 89,T9 and you have more than enough worse to call to make up for AA, A9, or random 55/44.

I came to the same
Conclusion as everyone here. While he wa tanking I weighed my options if he jammed. Way more worse hands jamming for value than hand sthat have me beat especially how it was played.

Anyhow

I snap after he jams.

He emphatically slams down AA. Nh. He was very proud how he played. Lol

So I’ll chalk that up to a cooler? Of sorts

So the reason for the thread is. I knew it was a snap. But as the night went on i started second guessing myself. So needed to check with all you

Thanks.

He probably slammed it down and was so pumped because "his aces finally didn't get cracked for once" hahaha.

Definitely a cooler.

I heard him start bragging to his neighbor. “Would you have checked that? I trapped him perfectly”. Probably watched Rounders too many times
