Game is short handed and vil is a euro pro who covers me. Effect stacks are 3300.

Pre:
Vil opens OTB to 30, I 3bet to 150 from SB with red JJ he flats.

Flop: T83r one club
I cbet 200, he calls.

Turn: 3 club
I bet 400 he calls.

River: offsuit T
I check, he jams for ~ 2550 into a pot of 1500.

My only bluffs getting to the river are probably AXcc and QJ, maybe one or two combos of J9s if I'm feeling aggro that day. Think I take this line with ATs/A3s too, otherwise my value range is mostly overpairs in this spot.

As played, i doubt V has a set as being a "euro pro" he would have seeked value+protection ott 3clubs. He would have also 4bet pre most of the times with a higher pp. Him being ip, his range does contain some Tx combos like J10ss Q10ss K10ss A10ss but you are double blocking J10. That river overbet shove is really polarized imho. Trips or boat (or higher pp but again he would have seeked value before the river imo) OR air like 97cc, overs+fd, dont know how often he s overbetting river. Highly doubt he s doing that with 77 or 99. 88 is still part of his range but i dont see why he wouldnt raise turn with that. Have you seen him doing so in the past (over bet shoving rivr)? If he s really competent and aggro, i would call that river shove. If he s more on the tight safe side, i would fold.

I think we need to just count our hand combos that get here this way and determine from that what we should be calling with. Though arguably AK makes a better call here than JJ (I say arguably because while JJ is a bad hand to have in this spot due to the J9s blockers, sometimes he has like A4cc and all we do is chop when we call, though jamming A4cc here seems unlikely from vil POV).

I do think a competent opp will use this sizing with 88 or 3x here at a reasonable frequency, though.

I've been at the table for 15min so no specific reads. I can tell vil is competent based on a few hands played + table demeanor + nationality + the fact that he's insanely deep.

Euro pro is rising the turn with A3x sometimes and maybe something like AQs max. I wouldn't be surprised if he has no raising range on the turn.

I actually fold this. I think QJs, J9s are a huge part of his overbet bluffing range and since you're blocking it, I don't like the call. Yes, you block some JT, JTo combos as well but he has tons of other Tx-combos. If you called, not a huge mistake. Since you don't block any flush draws on the turn, it's one of the best JJ combos to call.

You should pretty much never bet this river yourself. It's that bad for your range.

What are the suits of the board? Blocking JTs is pretty significant. Designing my calling range here I'd probably pick the overpairs that block suited broadway Tx and fold the ones that don't; if it's the Td and Th on the board I'm folding this combo 100% of the time. Maybe always calling KK-AA as you block less bluffs and I think we need more calls.

There was a black T and a red J on board so we block one combo of JTs. Think vil has all combos of T9-ATs so it's not a huge deal though.
