Live 5/10 No Limit Holdem Game

V is a Rec LAG, some would say station, splashes and has a wide range , playing vp/pfr: 50 / 20.

Hero TAG, but V has seen Hero make some bluffs in the past and also thin value bets , overall V considers Hero solid reg.

V - $4,000
H - $2,500
Button - abc Rec player , $1000

V raises UTG+1 to 40. Hero calls with Qc, 8c from CO. Button calls.

Flop: 9s 7c 6h (135) V checks. Hero bets 80. Button folds. V calls quickly.

Turn: Kc (295) V check/calls Hero's bet 260.
[hero picks up flush draw + open ended]

River: 4s. (815). V checks. Hero bets 620.

1. Do we like the turn barrel or prefer to see free river vs this opponent ?

2. River - mandatory barrel or giving up reasonable ?

what kind of range do you think he c/c this flop as the PFR?

at first i thought we should just check back turn against him, and give up OTR after he called, but the more i think about it, it seems that he'd continue betting with decent pairs and check and call with weak pairs and draws, so bet/bet seems good.

Fold pre.

Flop is good, turn is good. As played it's not a bad bluffing hand but we do block some of the hands that we are trying to fold out like 98, 68, 78, but we also block trapped T8.

Versus this guy I probably just xb river; I honestly just don't expect a fold from 98 type hands a lot. We have some small sdv vs JT. I'd bluff JT, some QJs bdfd type hands and if you're calling Q8s pre I guess you call J8s also, which also a better bluff.

Fold pre.

I'd say I like post-flop, except you mention that some would call him a station. If you think he can fold like 9X, TT, then I like it. If he is calling with all of those, then no.

Also, my turn bet probably wouldn't be as large as yours.

You answered your own question in your first sentence

Fold or 3b pre, prob fold given he's a station
As played flop and turn are fine
I imagine a lot of rec players show up with AK on the river which is never folding to a third barrel

To the guy above, he never has 98, Rec lags always cbetting this flop if they open 98

I like post. The guy would have to be pretty bad for preflop to show a profit, but... lol live poker I guess.

You keep using that word.

I like a check on the turn. In position the turn check could induce a river bluff into you or maybe even a value bet into you once you make your hand. Decent trapping spot. But I'm not opposed to firing turn. If I fire turn im shoving must rivers. Just crushing his range with mine on this board

Looks fine. Pre is meh but bored playing 25h/hour poker I can see it. As soon as I see the turn I know this pot is going to be expensive to win.

Would he x/call AK otf?

Board favors our range for sure, Kc seems like a pretty good card to barrel considering it's an overcard to TT-QQ and gives us a ton of equity. I think if we barrel turn we have to fire river every time considering I don't expect him to fold much of anything he called the flop with ott, but I think will likely fold to a sizable river bet.

I think it's a fine board to 3barrel since he should be capped and we're not.

Grunch

Feels like a TTish hand or AK for villain but either way i think his line is incompatible with a hand that can call a huge river bet.

This is a spot where I'd overbet like 1500 or something ESPECIALLY if he's sitting on 4K bc he's up on the night. That last part is super important actually

If villain is loose or a station, and has called the turn, how likely is he to fold what is essentially a blank river?

Do you think he's folding ~45% of the time you bluff the $620?
Do you think he's folding ~60% of the time you bluff $1200?

Not sure it's ever profitable to bet the river as hand is described.

Turn bet seems fine. I may have sized slightly lower... but I think against this kind of opponent it is good to bet as you will get good implied odds if you river a flush.

River we can usually give up... especially against a calling station. They would not fold nearly enough of the time for this to be profitable.

I like the turn barrel...bet bigger otr to give him worst odds....minimum 1200

At 600 into 800 he only has to be right 30% of the time
