UTG raises to $35 , folds all around to me with JJ. I have about $400 effective , do I fold here on such a strong UTG bet or call to see the flop. At the moment I didn't feel like set mining, and I felt behind, trust your gut right ? I do not know the initial raiser and I just swapped to this new table, but bad vibes all around .

Additional Information:
Now I am being regretful I didn't even put in calling chips , normally our cardroom $25-35 means KK+.

Ive been switching my TAG gear to LAG and back and having issues playing poker level 2.5 here....

^^^ Agree. It's UTG so without reads we go with a strong range there.

Thanks confirmed by two degens . The CU called and the flop comes out QdJd5d . The UTG checks and the CU who is a regular , and is a solid player bets $55. UTG calls and the turn is a 5, pairing the board.UTG checks and CU bets $145. I don't put him on AQ, but I have a feeling his bets out of position means he had Qs full. Im convinced I saved myself money.....

I can also assumeaybe the $145 bet was to block flush draws but it looks more like boat value .

he could have had AA with A

AA now beats QJ.

ok.quick work here.

if we only range him overpairs only then he has AA (6), KK (6), QQ (3), and lets throw 2 combos of AK, AdKx AdKd.

we beat 14 combos of hands and lose to 3. 14/17. even if we cut the frequency of taking this hand in half we still crush his range.

if you were in the hand then you would have to call here even against the nittiest of the nits IMO.

It was a decent play also considering I lost $0 dollars , but yes I will need to be cooler by a better boat if I believe what I think the situation was...
Thanks nit game, Johnny Chan.

I don't know how far I would be behind, I have the effective boat. Quads get there if 55 wants to be creative, and I don't put him on that. Solid regular in the CU .QQ is ideal, KK is average and AA is best with the draw. Anyhow in retrospect I should be calling and playing post flop. The effective nuts could of be coolered, but I left the cardroom +ev. A win any day is a golden day....

Call preflop and re-evaluate. Obviously with the flop, its a cooler situation if either of them has QQ.
