Confused by this hand and hoping to get some advice.

V: Relatively unknown but I'm assuming competent agro tag. All I know is he raised with 55 from CO and I 3b with KK, he called. Flop 45K, I cb, he raised 3x, I shove and lost. That was from a few sessions ago, didn't see much after.

UTG: passive limper

Hero dealt JJ

UTG limps, V raises button to $12, I 3b to $40, UTG folds, V calls

($86) Flop: 996

H bet $45, V calls

($176) Turn 6

H bet $120, V call

($416) River K

Hero?

I put his range on slowplayed overpair, busted sd or fd, 9x or 6x. Sadly I do not know what he would do with busted draws since sample size is too small.

Probably bluff catch. Straight and flush both bricked. If he shoves KX then say nice hand.

c/c or c/f depending on your read. I'm probably c/c most of the time.

wait, how did you lose that KK vs 55 hand?

I check/call here. I don't bet as I might not call the reraise.

Never get steamed over losing to quads. That stuff happens. You had the nuts on the flop. I would have shipped it to a reraise when i had the best of it.
