Hi, I am Dom... Last year I played a weird hand at EPT Prague. I asked a couple of my friends who are pros as well what they would´ve done and got several different opinions. I am interested to see what you guys come up with...

I am playing in Czech Crowns, so don't get confused by the sizes. It is a normal 10/20 game (200/400). Right before this hand happened I lost a bigger pot, so my stack is just 35000crowns or about 90bb. I did not have the chance to reload to my usual 250bb yet.

Hero gets dealt Q♥️J ♥️ the button

Cutoff (tight player)opens to 800, Hero decides just to flat since his hand plays very well postflop and multiway. A threebet would've been ok as well. The small Blind (new on the table but a spewy fish according to a friend who is also on the table) decides to raise to 1500 which is way too small. The Big Blind ( my friend, decent recreational player) overcalls. Cutoff and Hero call as well.

Flop:
8♥️9♥️4♠️ Small Blind decides to overbet 10000, big Blind calls rather quickly and cutoff gets out of the way.
What do we do now? I debated this over and over with other regs and I got several different opinions.
I decided to let it go.

Turn

2♦️ Small Blind bets 30000, Big Blind calls

River

2♠️ Both players check. Small Blind shows 4♥️T♥️for a pair and flushdraw on the flop, Big Blind shows 9♠️T♦️ for top pair.

To be honest I was quite surprised to see those hands. I assumed I am up against at least an overpair or the nutflushdraw. Both players are about 140k deep so I there was a lot of room to play. The overbet in the flop followed by an instacall makes this really tricky.

What would you have done?

I started kind of a blog thing on Instagram where I post tricky hands I play and where poker leads me in the world. If you are interested follow me there.

cheers

The numbers are messing me up but my default is going to be to just stuff it on that flop assuming it isn't too huge.

Super trivial jam. No doubt about it. I'm surprised you weren't willing to gamble with this solid draw and smallish stacking after just losing a big pot...how else you gonna "get it back"?

I'm not sure if this is a level or not, but once you see the flop it's a trivial shove.

haha... maybe :P but I had the feeling I was up against a better fd and at least an overpair from the fish... my read was wrong, but saved me 2k since I would not have hit anything.

my friends offered several funky solutions btw. 2 would´ve called... one would´ve raise/called and one would have folded as well... that´s thought I post it... I played that hand like 2 years ago and probably would broke today too... but 2 years ago that game was a shot for me so I might have been a little too tight
