PS tournament summaries auto-import PS tournament summaries auto-import

I've seen other people had problems with autoimporting the summaries from e-mail and I can't seem to be able either.

PT3 stops responding after a few minutes whether I am trying to import 5 mtt summaries or a larger file of 200 mtt summaries.

When testing the connection pt3 verifys it can connect to pop3, downloads the e-mail and creates a backup of the e-mail, in pokertracker/processed, when I select it to import, but then freezes.

I enabled logging and can't find the log file to send it to you guys. where should it be stored.

any fixes in the meantime?

The file is called PokerTracker.log but it may look like a text file called PokerTracker in the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\ directory (or it may be Program Files (x86) if you're on a 64 bit machine). Getting us the logs will help the most in figuring out where to go from here.

After doing the same thing the last days I think I figuered out where the problem is. First make sure that your email provider allows unlimited pop3 requests. I created a new adress one only for receiving tournament histories. I was wondering why the server didn't respond anymore after testing the connection.
I found out, that I'm only allowed to send 1 request every 15 minutes.

After changing the provider, the best thing you can do is this:

1. Sort your mails by size. Every file which is bigger than 300kb should be saved in another folder. To import these files it is easier to import every single file for its own, or save them as .txt file and import the file.
(This step also saves a lot of time. When you have many requests in your folder, it takes a lot of time only to download the files.)

2. Now manual import from email. If your files are not bigger than 10 kb try to import 10 or 15 files. Not more. Make sure, that proceeded emails will be deleted after importing. If it works, try 20 or 30.

Everytime I wanted to import some files bigger than 250kb, pokertracker didn't react anymore. But doing it step by step worked.

The next thing I will check out is trial version of tournamentupdater.
I indeed made it to import my results, but pokertracker shows crazy buy-in amounts, so I cant use this data for checking profit and things.

how do you actually import the summaries? I can't actualyl find the menu items to do it.

at the moment all the hand histories get reports but none of the winnings do.

You can either import the summaries directly from email, or save the content of the email as a text file and import that.

Is it easier if I save the content of mail in a txt file?

Because in my experience any summary containing tourneys with more than 20-25,000 runners cannot be imported.

It will just with that many players it can take several minutes to process. We've been working on improving the speed and efficiency of the email imports so it should be better in Beta 30.6 than in previous versions.

I tried importing a 200 MTT summary which included some fairly large one along with the 40,000 runners 1 mil guarantee promotional tourney Stars ran. It was importing for more than an hour, without showing any progress. Same thing happened when I tried importing the Guiness world record which had 150,000 runners.

I did copy the summaries in a text file and I was able to import everything. I did use 30.6.
