Pokertracker vs HEM Pokertracker vs HEM

Which is better? What does pokertracker have that HEM doesn't and vice-versa.

Sorry if this has already been posted. I did a search and couldn't find anything.

The biggest feature that PT3 has that HEM doesn't is, in my opinion, the custom statistics. In PT3 you can build a wide variety of statistics -- basically anything you can put together from the original database fields, you can make a stat for. You can also use these functions to display one stat's color on the HUD based on another stat's value. For example, on my HUD (see here for more information about my personal HUD) I display PFR but intead of the color of PFR being based on the value of PFR, it's based on the value of PFR & Fold to 3bet. So if I see someone whose PFR is 12 and it's in blue, I know they raise 12% overall but fold 70-80% of the time they get 3-bet. Assuming they raise to 3xBB I can raise to 9xBB with any two cards and be risking 9 to win 4.5 and assuming that this stat is accurate (and they don't start adjusting, etc.) I'm going to make money on this raise with literally any two cards.

Which, if any, high-value HEM feature(s) does PT3 lack, in your opinion?

Sorry if I'm putting you on the spot, good sir!

The reason I ask is that I use HEM exclusively at the moment, and am considering a switch to PT3. However, I imagine switching between HEM and PT3 requires a signifcant investment of time and attention. Your feedback would help me make a more informed assessment of HEM and PT3 when compared side by side.

Thank you.

Edit: Apologies if this question has (1) x 1 million been asked before.

The only real difference in my opinion is the fact that you can graph your rakeback/bonuses like you can with HEM. I use PT3 and am a proud user although I really wish you were able to do these things in PT3. I know you can graph rakeback in your "session" statistics but its not the same as doing it for hands played like in HEM and looks very strange when graphed.

Also nothing against PT3, but asking which is better PT3 or HEM in a PT3 sponsored forum might be a bit biased .

Hank,

I don't believe I can answer that question effectively for you, if for no other reason than that each person is going to feel that different features have different values to them. My most important features will likely not be your most important features. We do have a free 60 day trial though that I would encourage you to try, and then you can see for yourself what you think.
