just bought the pt3 but the following error window that pops up:

Cant read value HKCU\software\fulltiltpoker\options (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified)

i would really appreciate some help with this.

This is most likely caused by a missing registry key. If a normal reinstall of Full Tilt software doesn't help, try to boot into safe mode by following the guide:

How to: Safe Mode removal of Software

In safe mode, remove both Full Tilt and PokerTracker 3 completely and make sure that the main directories are removed as well (default C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3 and Full Tilt Poker), then reinstall PT3 and FTP while still in safe mode. When that's done, boot back into normal mode. This should resolve your issue.

thanks for the advice. the second option worked nicely. i wonder why it had to be done in safe mode, but dont trouble yourself with another
post. thanks!

The error is actually a registry key error, one of the settings that Full Tilt uses (for something like scroll wheel function, etc; if you search the software thread one of the FTP reps posted about how to turn that stuff on) must have gotten messed up.

So reinstalling Full Tilt was actually what fixed things for you; doing it in safe mode just makes sure that nothing else loads alongside the software when you start up.
