What do you mean you can't install Beta 17? Have you tried completely closing PT3 first? You can't install the upgrade while PT3 (or the "new release available" window) is open.

Ok here's what I did:

Note: PT3 was completely closed

1. Clicked download without Postgrsql

2. Internet Explorer security warning came up that says: "The Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software. Name: P-Install-v.300.b17.exe"......I hit 'run', agreed to licensing agreement and chose the default install location

3. As soon as I hit install I get the following message:

Pokertracker3 Setup Error opening file for writing: C:\ Program Files\ Poker Tracker 3\Poker Tracker-exe.
Click Abort to stop the installation
Retry to try again
Ignore to skip this file

4. I click retry, it does nothing (error just comes up again)

5. So I hit 'Ignore' and nothing happens until I hit it about 5 times and then it goes through and says install was successful.

6. But when I go back to the desktop icon and open Pokertracker it is still the Beta 16 version.

-------------

Now when I open Pokertracker there are other problems:

1. Under the import tab if I click 'begin auto import' there are a whole stack of red notes under the 'import status' window saying:

Unable to begin feeder import. Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3DB). Reason: Server closed the connection unexpectedly. This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request

2. Under the texas holdem tab theres also red note in the left hand column where all the players names usually are saying:

Unable to log database (PT3DB). Reason: Server closed the connection unexpectedly. This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request

What should I do?....Uninstall and reinstall again??

Press ctrl+alt+del, and click Task Manager, search in the Processes tab for PokerTracker.exe or PokerTrackerHud.exe and click on them then click End Process, and try the installation again.

If you can't find any of them that way, try rebooting and then attempting the install (without ever opening PT3 between booting and installation). That error means the file is in use in some way and the only reason I've ever seen that be for is because PT3 is running in some way shape or form.
