Question your ability Question your ability

How often do you face some guy who is playing very unorthodox but you feel in your gut that he is good?

And when you do, how often do think about it and try to either incorporate his play into your arsenal or try to beat it with your style?

For example I played vs a guy who had a polarized 3-betting range. That could work very well until you discover that he is in fact 3-betting trash. But even if you know what he is 3-betting it is still a valid strategy that you have to think for a while to counter. (and tbh I still havent really come up with something that beats it badly)

Just to make sure that I understand your post - he is ONLY 3-betting trash?

If so, this requires very little thought at all.

If he is 3-betting premiums + trash, that would be a little more challenging.

if he's 3betting trash, it means it's hands without showdownvalue

eazy game, no?

The question was not so much about my specific example. More about how often you question and work on your game.

My example was a polarized 3-betting range, trash and premiums.

well, sometimes you need to realize you're doing something wrong against a strategy

even the worst player can be exploiting you without you noticing it

donkbettors, although they seem bad players, will exploit people who play fit or fold and don't fight back.

imo best thing you can do is keep studying the game and be openminded. even fish can be doing something right, although it may seem wrong by 2p2 standards...

As far as adjusting to any villan, then all the time. As far as questioning my ability, not in a long time. I just whine a lot during the match.

wish i did it more, but mostly just during the match
