Re: HUHU NC/LC Thread for March

sigh, get back from the beach last night, 6 days of solid sunning, back to the big city and it's raining, someone is drilling outside my window, and both my high speed internet connections are busto. and turns out heads up is dead, everyone's solid.

Still, 2 more months and it's off to the carib for the rest of 2010 gogogogogo. Best start learning PLO so i can afford it.

i know! lets bring up some arguments from last month...

First time he ever sat me, he said "haha i've got you now you ****ing bumhunting ****ing scum". Our relationship blossomed from there. He has also hit and run me in cash. He throws down cash challenges, then backs out when i accept them.

This is a pretty low shot considering that (a) it was 'a few months ago', (b) you have dont have the chat, (c) you dont know the table, fishes name, or any other details. how am i meant to respond to this? I don't know who you are (but your name does ring a bell, but i think that was from HULA? I don't know your stars screen name). I often ask a player to go heads up, especially if we have some heads up history before, or we built up a bit of a chat/dynamic whilst playing HU at teh 6max table. I can't remember any time i've badgered someone, goes against everything i believe in really. The only time i remember is when the guy snap responded "yes" but couldn't find the HU table, so i helped him to do ctrl-f, search for my player name. maybe a bit of needling vs a guy who hit and run me at HS.

Also if I persuaded him and we went to a 6max table, how did we have a 'run in'?

I've had run ins with loads of low stakes 6max grinders, loads of you guys six game creating but sit out when anyone competant sits and starts game creating with you. can't even go a few hands on the table to see if a few fishies sit. So if i've had a run in with you for that, i wouldn't be suprised.

and even if this all did go down, lol @this being "the most ****ed up thing" you've seen in poker.

Re: HUHU NC/LC Thread for March

ok, in order to improve my game I wanna take this month very seriously... I post my goals so I cannot escape and I've to face it...

* Hands: 25'000
* Good table selection (weak opponents, etc)
* 3betting more hands pf and play more aggressive against weak opponents
* 2 Tournaments a day
* If there is not enough action --> analysing river play with poker stove; and/or go through some different board textures; review my hands; watching poker videos

I'll be aware of:

taking breaks after two hours playing, e.g. Stand up, drink sth, go outside, do some exercise.

quitting opponents who doesn't suck (regardless which amount I've already lost)

tilting and realizing it early enough

yep! that's it!

March off to a cracking start for once, I think I've remembered how to play
Which brings with it a v close decision imo, or isn't it? 5th hand no reads as such, although I had already been caught x-raising a similar flop with air.

Nice 1st post. Do we actually do this? What with me being a pro for 2 weeks recently and the odd day 'working from home' since breaking my ankle I've been playing pretty much 0900-2000 with break for lunch, with poor results. Whereas with just 3-4 hrs after work I did well. Maybe that's where I've been going wrong.

Mullet equity IMO. I am convinced it creates tilt. Getting called ugly at the table is a beautiful thing.

Nice call. When I first saw the hand I thought river fold is the play, but after thinking about it your call makes sense. A weak 6x is a very likely holding for villan the way the hand played out. Yor surely are getting the money at the river so its a very nice call. Thanks for the lesson.(Ive been going through a real crummy stretch of cards the last few days and its probably affected my thinking, even here)

Are you guys good at multitabling HU? I play pretty bad when I'm at more than 1 HU table, but I think I should practice that because I always wait wait wait, and then I get everyone sitting at once, grrrrr...

very standard without any reads. relative hand strength and your villain is a polar bear.

also how do you not have any reads 5 hands in? =o

Having just been "caught" bluffing early on makes this even more of a call against most fishy opponents.

Re: HUHU NC/LC Thread for March

Quite, hence my call. Thought it was pretty close though as its still only a J, half expected a few people to say fold.
And no I can't multitable Although I've tried a couple times when I'd been playing someone with nice clear cut reads and then another big fish joined I haven't been able to turn either away, and actually did ok. But in any other case my brain can't cope. Maybe women are good.

Last time I played more than 1 table HU I think I tossed about 8 bets out the window from not reading the board correctly one or 2 times. I try to stick with 1 unless I get 2 big ones on the line

I have a lot of trouble when playing 2 players with different styles. Its like the games "bleed" into each other. Besides , single tabling is frustration enough.

usually 1-2 HU and 2-3 6max tables, if all aren't tough i'll 3 table HU some but that's rare these days since it's almost impossible to 3 games at once so i'm usually 3 tabling 6max and then throwing in a HU when i get it

I've been sitting for about 6 hours now. I've managed to get 130 hands in in that time and run 41/29 in the process. Tough to get on the right side of variance when you can't get action.

Depends,
money wise I'm breaking even for 6 months now.

BB wise, not so much.

But the main problem is I simply can't get enough hands in to make 10k/mo anymore at this game. I need to find other games to get some hands in. I'm not quitting huhu, it's just not gonna be the majority of my volume like before.

I'll also have to spend a lot of time learning new games. It might break me and force me to go back to work. It's hard to understand how good you had it playing huhu exclusive until you start playing games like 4-tabling 6max 10/20. The swings are an order of magnitude more brutal.
