Mostly as a precautionary measure to safeguard against credit card fraud and money laundering.

There are other good reasons too, but I can't think of them at the moment.

50k breakeven stretch and I would quit the game. I only get about 5k hands a month and couldn't take a year of losing.

For sure 6max is different, but HU would be brutal. Mostly because I just don't get the hands in.

prob like 20k hands are HU, by breakeven i mean like winning at 2BB/100 or so which is brutal but losing at high stakes so even or so monetarily wise

Mixing stakes is so frustrating. I've only played three $500 HU SNGs and they were against the same fish I beat at lower stakes and of course I lost all 3 at FT. I definitely think Stars SNGs are much less tilting, in FT I find the blinds too big and you are soon shortstacked and it's like a crapshoot.

yea telll me about it, i regularly sit 5/T-100/200, considering putting in 3/6 and 200/400 but 2/4 just feels like alot of money and when u feel the money u cant play ur best imo

ya im actually on a 60k but its because i was playing 3-6 - 50 100 and a shot at 100 200 put me in the gutter

probably you don't play pro and more power to you haha ur probably a real person, 5k hands a mo and ur results are just going to **** with u if u care about them and no chance of variance evening it out esp given the lack of true long term at HUHU,

i assume you have another job and poker it for the side income, once again this is good

if u played every limit up to 2 4 u could concievably have quarter million hand probably more B/E's if u ran bad at superbad at highstakes

one -100 bb downswing at 2 400 would take u 2000bb of wins at 10 20 more bbs if ur playing lower

im by far at my peak BB wise but still down maybe 1.5k from my profit standpoint runbad highstakes is the worst ever

Yes, I do more than 6 hands per month. I played 11K hands since beginning of the year (all HUHU at 3/6,5/10 and 10/20)

There are some European red pros who play at the FTP low stakes HU limit tables sometimes, and it's so unfair, come on, I also want 100% rakeback and I'd play 2/4 all day, and I don't want to pay you my rake give it back to me! Anyway, some red pros have such bad results at cash games it appears the rest of players have to support them with our rake, ridiculous.
03-28-2010 , 11:56 AM
i'm def not a pro, and big bankroll nit. Never even played higher than 5/T, partially because I've ran awful there.

I just shoot for making 1 or 2k per month, don't really do anything with the money; fund my trips to Vegas, and random cool purchases. I guess we'll see what a massive break-even stretch does to me, losing 2 or 300 BB hasn't been that bad, especially because I play low and rakeback is pretty significant.

This probably belongs in 4L or something, but whatever, this is home.

How long do you wait to tell a girl you've just met that you play poker?

I've got a first date today with a really cute girl* (didn't even have to pay her), and I'm wondering whether it's +EV to tell her about how the majority of my day is spent thinking about whether to donk or check raise.

With the last girl, I waited three dates. "You play poker online?" Yep. "For real money?" Of course. "I don't gamble." Neither do I.
And she never called me back.

A while back, though, I slipped in something about how I know a guy who went deep in the Main. She was like, "I wish I could make money at poker," so we made out, and I offered to teach her. Unfortunately, she took off for someone more handsome.

In any case, it's gotta come up at some point, right? If there's going to be a relationship, she's going to find out. I mean, girls usually tell me right away if they have a cat.

Anyway, I've had a few bad beats, and don't want to misplay this one.

So, rec players: How long before you say, "I literally made hundreds of dollars in pokerz last year -- on the innerwebs! How bad do you want me now?"

And pros: Do you admit straight up that you get crushed at 100/200 but you kill 10/20, or do you just tell them you're a "volatile risk analyst"?

*sorry, no pics yet.

Well im not sure its +EV to advise u in these matters cuz if u land this one there will be less for the rest of us but since strategy discussion is the backbone of 2p2 Ill go ahead

If you lookin for a LTR then imo you wasted 2 dates on the last one but if ur just lookin for a more casual/physical type thing then tell her u work in the online shipping business

Dunno how about new relationship, but I can tell you for granted that poker can easily get you a divorce
