This is some of the highest priced real estate anywhere and there is nothing ridiculous about it at all.
Anyone that owns a parking lot can charge for parking but if you do that in a random strip mall people will just avoid those businesses rather than pay the fees. However, people that really want to go to Wynn will be more than willing to shell out money for parking. The parking fees will more than cover whatever business is lost from cheapskates that avoid Wynn because of it.
Wynn is the premier casino in Vegas with the wealthiest clientele. It's not ridiculous at all to ask their clientele to pay for parking. Some will actually prefer it because it will be much easier to find a spot now, and safer.
I completely agree with this statement, and I'm generally someone who looks for a deal. I've lowrolled Vegas many times and cut my craps teeth at the Stratosphere. I've spent more hours there than I can count. For the last few years, I've exclusively stayed and played at the Wynn.
Most of us know there are multiple ecosystems in Vegas and none comprise the entire spectrum of humanity. Your typical Wynn client will not sweat a parking fee at all. I'm sure Wynn management will be happy to lose anyone who could potential consider a parking fee a deal-breaker, never mind the fact that we know they're going to MAKE money on the situation. And I'll tell you this- I basically expect to be accosted for money, smokes etc at a lot of casinos. That just doesn't happen at the Wynn. After big scores, I've asked for a security escort walking out to the parking deck at other places, but I don't feel that need at the Wynn. At the Wynn you just have to deal with douchebags who think their net worth makes them god's gift to humanity.
