Hey - I will be in the US for work in June and am taking the opportunity to hit Vegas while there.

I will be in LV from June 9th - 14th staying at Ballys. Looking at the WSOP schedule seems I am well placed for the Milly Maker so going to play this and a few other tourneys if I bust early (Venetian $600 and Aria $400). Any suggestions on other worthy tournaments to check out?

I will also be playing plenty of cash games while there. I have been to Vegas many times and $2/5 is my regular game with preferred rooms the Aria and Venetian - coming from London I have always found the games beatable but expect this to be even more so during the series. I have heard it gets crazy busy during the WSOP so any advice on the best places to play - balancing crowds with value?

I am planning to do a trip report while there to keep the action going. As I will be solo if any 2+2'rs are around for boozing (I am english so you gotta handle your liquor dudes) and trading poorly played hands let me know!

There's no place that clearly has better games than the rest, so perhaps the best strategy is to play where you can minimize the time spent traveling to and from the room and waiting on the list for a seat. Watch Bravo for how busy the rooms are nearest to Ballys are. The Tournament Events forum has threads on various tournament series and links to information.

That makes sense. I usually play at Aria and Venetian but they will be a bit of a trek. Do people recommend Bally’s for cash? - never played there.

Aria often has super long lists during the WSOP. As do a lot of places. Especially during the Milly Maker and other events with funny bands there will be so many people in town that everywhere will be better than usual. Just find somewhere where you can get a seat

Its gonna be madness I'm sure. I literally cannot wait - the last time I was there for the series was in 2007. I won a main event package on some random uk poker site while unemployed. They put everyone up at the gold coast and while it was grim looking back it was the highlight of my degen life.

How clutch! Being unemployed is the worst, so I'm sure that was some welcomed good news.

Yeh when I won the seat I went out onto my balcony, my place at the time overlooked Canary Wharf which is a major financial district of London, and in a moment of passion showed it my clenched fist. I thought at the time this was my way of telling conventional society I did not need a job as I had just won a seat to the main event. In reality I played absolute gash on Day 1 and months later ended up working for HSBC - another slave to the corporate dollar!
