Since we are approaching the wsop I was wondering how much people bring for what stakes and how long you guys go for? Figured it Would be interesting to see how different people get to tackle Vegas during the wsop.
Me personally will be going for a weekish and will be bringing $10k playing mainly 2-5 NL and 1-2/2-5 plo. Might play a 1k tournament or 2 If cash goes well.
I bring $1k for each day I am there during WSOP and play mainly $2/$5 and a few tournaments during a two week stay that are <$500 buy-in. I’ll also play one $1.5k event. Never been close to running out of money, and normally comfortable enough in the second week to add an extra $1.5k tourney or I take a couple of shots at $5/$10 in the Bellagio.
I’ll be bringing $10000 for 10 days of some cash, WSOP single table satties, and some MTTs. The MTTs will max out at about $600 per event unless I win some lamers. Cash will be 1/3 or 2/5 NLH or PLO. I’m not a pro, so I know my bankroll is thin for what I’m doing, but I’m just going to have so much fun grinding the WSOP and if I come back broke that’s fine. But hopefully I have some success early on and hit a nice score
Playing the main, monster, maybe a couple other 1.5K events and 2/5 over 3 weeks. I will probably bring 30K with me. Not because I plan to spend it all, but just to have the psychological factor of having reserves if needed and there is no real risk of ruin.
Im taking 8k for just shy of two weeks. This year, my plan is to focus on game selection and stick and grinding 1/2/5 PLO and 1/3, maybe 2/5 at the outside of the bigger rooms. Trying to avoid as many pro-heavy games/rooms if possible. Tourney wise sticking to Colossus and 500 or less buyins
I have 10 days booked at the Rio, with a poker bankroll of about $3K. Entering event #4: Om 8/b $1500, event #7 Colossus, and event #11 PLO Giant. Plus a Deepstack or two.
To quote YeeDog, "I like to to have the psychological factor of having reserves if needed and there is no real risk of ruin." Since I play for very low stakes and do a lot of walking and watching, it is not a lot of money.
I'm taking 2k. I plan to stay there permanently. I'm driving cross-country from Jacksonville, FL. I'll be vlogging as I run that 2k up. I know it's a small roll, but I'm a great poker player. And with so many fish in Vegas, what can go wrong?
