If you're 60+ get a reduced fare card for half price bus rides.

This... Haha.

We should make a PH drunk poker meet up for the series. Get a bunch of shlubs to all go tear it up. We won't stop til someone gets 86'd. Make it a poker tradition. Like running with the bulls.

Booking domestic flights about 59 days in advance, on a Tuesday. That's the play. Or catch the SWA fare sale that's on right now.

I have a super old MLife account, but I'd imagine my ghost still exists somewhere on their system. Is this the best perk/comp card to go with in Vegas? I'll be heading there in Oct for sure, and maybe over the summer also. Someone also mentioned a credit card that gets free parking or other discounts? Thanks...

Pleasure, I’d also recommend buying the American Casino Guide and getting a Las Vegas Advisor subscription. Both provide numerous vouchers for free/discounted food, room discounts and slot/match play.

That includes half off a buffet at Gold Coast and half off a meal (including N9NE Steakhouse) at Palms.

The two combined would cost you around $50-$60, but if you plan to go downtown you should be able to make that back and more just playing video poker with the free slot play (some nice $25 table match play vouchers in there for D and Golden Gate in there too).

a load of us from the live low limit forum have been organising a drunk 1/1 game at the MGM each year. Sometimes 1 and sometimes 2 tables. It's got pretty OOL a few times but we haven't pushed it and have always been respectful to the floor and dealers and we've tipped HUGE each time. We've ended up doing dealer's choice, 72 game, Indian poker etc etc

They've been brilliant hosts and the dealers and waitresses have apparently loved having us. again huuuuge tipping helps!

not sure we're going to get enough numbers this year but if you manage it in advance and correctly the rooms are often pretty helpful

First time wsop attendee Looking at coming out. June 10-17. Rio is 860 total while flamingo is 910. I will be solo for the first four days but will have some friends meeting up with me for the weekend. I am an avid poker player and coming to Vegas during the wsop is marking something off the bucket list for me. None of friends and family joining me care anything about poker. Looking to grind cash games and some single table sit and gos that I have heard so much about. Also total Rewards is giving 5 times tier credits on any rooms booked directly through them. Room prices are above and my round trip flight is around 260 bucks. I can get room and flight for 200 bucks less by not booking direct. What is better 5000 tier credit or 200 bucks??that would automatically put me to platinum status as now I am a low baller gold. Any and all advice would be appreciated

If you go onto booking.com, you can get pretty good deals on a flight/hotel package. I’m going out 6/24-7/1. I got a package at the D, on Fremont Street, for hotel and flight to and from Pittsburgh for $515.

Easiest way to get Platinum status is to get a Comenity bank issued Visa Card - now they can be a minor pain for approval but once issued you get automatic Platinum status and you get Reward points for usage anywhere (not tier credits) that you can convert to cash to use at the Rio for meals, room, etc . Book the room on line and you will save at least the $200 you mention (if not more) and grab the card upgrade elsewhere.

I also booked 'The D' for now, mid-June. Never heard of it, plus I've never stayed downtown before.

Looks relatively nice/decent reviews for super cheap.. I booked 3 nights (in Sun out Weds) - looks like it'll be about $45/night altogether (that includes resort fees).

Anything downtown is gonna be way cheaper than strip rn. Golden nugget had some good rates when I saw earlier this week!

It's also going to be a long way from the WSOP. Make sure to include transportation in your cost calculations.

With that - are there gonna be a decent amount of bracelet events after july 3rd? The schedule so far is not really convincing
You need to go in June!
Not only do the tournaments start thinning out, exhausted players start leaving town & before you know it... it's kinda dead poker-wise (for Vegas)

Plus the Andiamo Steakhouse is one of the best in town.
