my table was about to break, 6 cards dealt..
9's on the button and flop comes 2 clubs and a str8 draw, possibly** nut str but i highly doubted it.
Turn is king, betting that flop the only chance hes holding a king is if hes on a king high flush draw. I snap his raise on turn, river the 10. Scary card but i don't see him pushing on a pair of tens, let alone any other pair on the board.

I felt a push in this spot was most likely pure air with all the draws out there. (2 handed everyone was playing any 2 cards.)

Side note: his push was 3/4 of pot i believe at that point.

Counterpoint to his detractors: This kid plays old school instinct poker and he's making it work. Things like stoving it, assigning villain ranges, and pot odd calculation may not be his forte, but he has been making money from his image and gut feeling. Yes, the sample is small and I know many will say he is going inevitable busto, but he is playing his game, and it's working for him. Keep it going OP.

I'm talking about the way you describe hands. You call a bet a 'raise'. You proclaim "I call his bet to show I'm not %#\*ing around". You sound like a clueless Hollywood writer trying to write a dramatic poker scene.

25% in online tournaments

even/positive 2 months of live poker so far.

I write these blogs quick after long sessions, usually im not worried to much on the grammar i use. But i will try to keep it correct as best as i can. These hand reviews are just short quick explanations of the big hands of the night. I will try my best to improve on that for part for everybodys sake

Never snap turn barrels, try to tank relatively the same time (unless obv fold or a serious thinking decision) doing so will serve you well in allowing you to think through the hand deeper and disguise your range more effectively.

Snapping there generally reads as weak, not so much showing your not messing around. It feels like a draw or a marginal value hand your trying to slow him down with a quick call.

to elaborate, when most players snap call bets it means they were never thinking about raising for value, which narrows your range quite a bit most of the time

note taken thanks.

Went to the red rock tonight, just wanted to have a nice easy day of poker at my home room. Went extremely wrong when i hit top 2 with a str8 draw on the flop. Bought in for 150 (i thought this was a great idea for some reason before i went?.)

**the side effects of being short stacked**
(Will not buy in with any less then 200 now.)

-150

Going to take a few days off, will update this saturday night.

I'm confused you flopped top two pair and villian a open ended str made it and you were short, that exacly what you want you didn't pay the guy off, at I hope. If the stacks were 500 each then you've got a problem when you get stacked. You short stack so you can call down with tptk hands and not pay the guy off when he hits but the other side is you can't play spec hands and need to tighten your range

I had K Q
Villian had J10 and smacked the ace on the turn

I guess your right, being short stacked i can feel alittle less bad about going in with top 2 but also i feel as if i could get away easier being deep stacked.

you should evaluate your play on whether he paid to much to draw out on you or not. how'd the betting go? short/deep stack doesn't matter that much here

If i can remember, we had a 15 inital raise i was MP.
with only 2 callers.

Initial raiser bet out 30ish, had nothing but a gut shot(He ended up saying he had AJ) Guy reraises him 30-50. I flat.. guy folds, turn comes the ace.
he checks, i bet out 80. He pushes, leaving me with about 30 left to call. (Priced in).

(the initial re-raise should of shouted set, but i had top 2 and this guy was on tilt the hand before from losing with AK)

Btw, RED ROCK TONIGHT. Lets get some drunks money!

Ok back from my saturday session at the venetian!

Played for about 3 hours, and lets just say.. QUADS.

I have 78 in late position.
MP raises 12, 1 other caller plus me.

Flop comes ...
888

Initial raisers bets out 50..
(well thank you for telling me you have aces..)

Caller folds.. I say "no way am i folding with that kind of board.."

Turn 2 ...
He bets out 80.
I snap call.

River ..
Queen

He pushes, i snap..

Villian shows QQ.

OUCH.

(Weirdest thing ever, the 2nd time Ive flopped quads at the venetian and 3rd time ive had them there.)

Before this i dont think ive ever even hit quads.
(Only 1 card played in all 3 times ive hit.)

Cashed out $580, +280 to the ROLL.

Hey guys im sorry my sister was in town for the week, haven't seen her in almost 2 years.
it was great seeing her, but im ready to get back to the grind.

Im really starting to get annoyed of LIVE poker.
Its a very monotonous game and i feel like that's why very few end up taking it to the next limit.
Ive put so much time into this game though that i know i cant back out now.
I will be doing some big GTDs soon (including colossal) and less cash game.

COLOSSAL: Here i come. I will be studying the tournament and playing online mtts until then.

With my residual income, i think MTTs would be my best approach. (Only Big GTDs, not dailys.)
Paycheck baby. Worked 87 hours this check. Damn grinding aint easy lol

First bracelet event and i cant wait.
