When are you going back to Vegas? When are you going back to Vegas?

Thread got bumped, so I'll contribute - THURSDAY CAN'T GET HERE SOON ENOUGH!!!!

Also, decided not to do a live TR since my trip isn't going to be overly exciting to most. I will do a traditional TR (w/ pics) when I get back.

My wife and I have been in Miami Beach since last August (except for a quick one-week trip to LV in December) and are finally heading back to our house in Vegas at the end of next week. Haven't decided how long we'll stay, but it will be at least a few months.

Just as a side note, my NV registration was set to expire on my car this month, so I titled and registered it in Florida instead for a total cost of $255. Had I renewed the NV registration, it would have cost me $1,374, down from $1,506 the year before. There are definitely some advantages to maintaining two residences!

Is that really what it costs to register a car in NV? If it is, it starts to explain why there's no state income tax.

Registration fees (mostly taxes) in NV are based on a car's MSRP so the amount you pay each year is based on the car you drive. But I wouldn't necessarily say it is due to NV not having a state income tax. After all, FL doesn't have one either and it doesn't tax cars in the same manner. However, my property taxes in Miami Beach are twice what I pay in Las Vegas even though both properties have about the same market value. Here I pay roughly 2% of market value and in Las Vegas it is a low 1%. After all, every city/state has to get tax dollars from somewhere.

Arrived yesterday, staying for 7 nights minimum, solo.

Bellagio hotel sucks, totally overated imo. Price levels are unjustified, even with poker room rate.

Will ofc do a full TR with pics, but after the trip probably.

It just blows my mind that any car registration would be that high. Here in CA they at one point raised it to be around $600 at the high end and there was basically a coup.

And yeah, states do have to make their monies somehow. I know the big variable is typically in property taxes.

Perhaps you set your expectations too high. It's not the nicest hotel room on the strip, not by a longshot. It's still better than most though.

Not soon enough. We've got snow here! Longtime posters probably know what city I'm in and understand that it's not a normal occurence to get snow this late.

Secret shame: I have only been to Las Vegas once, and have no plans to return any time soon (lack of money, lack of confidence in poker skill). But I love living vicariously through you guys by lurking on this section of 2+2.

Bellagio has aged and not up to par with Aria, Wynn but still has the inflated prices. Used to be my favorite, but last time I stayed rooms were just too old with box tvs
