Security guards are surrounding the poker room, a line of guards are blocking access to the valet area, and minutes earlier I saw 9 cop cars in a hurry to get to Bellagio.
Did the room get robbed again? Did something else happen? Anyone see anything?
And the people that rob the Bellagio tend to get caught.

For now I'll stick with the assumption that he fired first, but we all know (particularly with trigger-happy Metro PD) that's not a guarantee.

The stars would have had to align for Metro to fire first and miss him, and him be able to fire back and hit a cop center mass. The cop's vest might've saved his life.
Trigger happy? Phoenix has 11 OIS so far (thru Mar 14). I guess this includes MCSO, DPS and a couple of the 'burbs, as well. Still, 7-8 by one agency in the same time-frame.

Math checks out- Phoenix metro is a little over 2x the size of Vegas, and Vegas has had five OIS so far this year.

Agree on all counts. I've just trained myself to be skeptical when the only account out there is the one that came from the cops.
Career criminal. Likely same guy behind 2017 heist. Bad news for him that cops were already there for another incident. He probably convinced himself he was a dead man so he went down firing. Really an incredible job by those officers. Thank god nobody else (other than the officer with the bulletproof vest) was hurt.
