First time visiting vegas. Looking for something to keep girlfriend busy/happy while I play. Is there anywhere she can rail?

If she rails my poker game than she is occupied. Some places I play at players can't really watch you play.

Even if she is able to watch, there are much better things for her to do than watch you play poker. Unless she is really into that, I guess. Shows, museums, more shopping than most men can tolerate, pools, walking the Strip/Fremont, spas.

Most Vegas rooms will allow her to sit behind you at the table in my experience but that’s a fate worse than death imo.

I was just there a week ago and if your hotel has an all-weather pool, see if she’s interested in hanging out there. Spas are a good option as is shopping if she likes that.

Play a late session after she goes to bed if all else fails.

If she has any desire to learn to play, you might see if she would play some 2/4 Limit at the Flamingo with you there to help her learn? For me this means having pre-tipped the cocktail waitress to keep the Grey Hounds and whiskey coming to me as I cap many pots with "Any 2"

My wife plays poker but it is not for all ladies for sure. She now prefers No Limit and does not like to play limit - but it took years for her to get comfortable.

Give her $$ to set on fire playing the Slots.

Send her on a Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour. Wife went alone and we went another time with family. It is nice and sight to see

Send her on the Hot Air Balloon ride. We have done this and would recommend

Spa and shopping - things in Vegas are not cheap..... setting hundo's on fire...

Pool is obvious....

The guy advocating helicopter and hot air balloon rides and slots money is going to criticize spas and shopping as too expensive?

100% of my SOs would not agree with that statement, especially if we mean busy/happy. I think literally any other reasonable activity would rank ahead of it, including sitting by herself in some lounge with a magazine. The experience would rank really low for me as wel.

Still, if it works for the two of you and she’s fine with it, then most places I’ve played would allow it. The issue is getting the floor’s help in finding a room/seat where she wouldn’t always be in somebody’s way, ideally at the edge of the room.

I guess that says something about his SO’s shipping tastes and the comparable comfort of a fixed price activity.

Sending your SO on helicopter / hot air balloon rides by herself has got to only be a little better than telling her to go clubbing by herself.

Did I read that wrong or are you looking for someone to rail your girlfriend while you play poker?

Pro tip: try not to sound too excited when volunteering for something, people will get suspicious.

absolutely! she just needs to drunkenly wander around the strip, every 10 yards there will be a group of guys who would be happy to rail her.

while you're sitting around with degenerates waiting for AA, she will be enjoying an AA in his hotel room!

That was heavy handed...

I always viewed Vegas trips as one of two ways:

1) 90% poker, 10% food and other stuff by myself/with poker friends.

2) 10% poker, 90% food and other things with SO.

If she knows how to play poker, she’d probably prefer playing poker to watching it.

If she doesn’t know how to play poker, she’d probably prefer doing almost anything else to watching it.

as others have alluded to - do not be that guy. Seriously. Take a step back and think about it from a womans perspective. Dudes that have their women sit behind them watching while being bored to tears are just about the biggest most self absorbed tools out there imho

She can take selfies on the strip all day and humblebrag about life goals on social media. That's what it seems like many vacations are turning into. Gotta get them likes!

When a woman asked to sit behind me I told her watching a guy playing poker is the most boring thing ever, etc. It looked like she was going to be difficult to convince. Some women actually want to do this.

I didn’t let it happen though lol. I think if you’re going to let it happen, then have a Plan B so she can go to it when she inevitably gets bored.

Don’t spend more than a few hours playing poker, send her to the spa or pool or really whatever she wants to do to spend a few hours since she’s an adult and is presumably capable of making her own decisions and being responsible for her own time.

My wife plays basic strategy blackjack, progressive $1 slots, and sometimes mini baccarat. Win some, lose some. She has watched me play poker but she gets bored which is totally understandable.

My wife accompanied me to a local casino on a Friday night afterr dinner out, to the poker room not to play but to pick up a high hand bonus. Free money, $200. In the ten minutes it took to collect she mentioned twice how miserable it must be to sit at those tables for hours. I retorted she can lay out at the pool for hours and she mentioned it's not with any of these people. LOL.

My point is, find an activity she wants to do, and let her do it. But one more thing, in Vegas we have a deal. We do all the couples things during most of the day, I play a short session most days. We do a great dinner, a show a show and then later she crashes and goes to bed.

I go play poker. some nights im home by 3am. Some I'm not. I just need to rebound and be ready for breakfast and the pool the next day. Its a great deal for me, but it also means 3-4 days in Vegas is all I can usually handle.

Lol, have to admit, I had to look up AA on Urban dictionary and im still only 80% I have the right definition.

My GF kept asking to watch me play poker despite my repeated warnings that it would be painfully boring. She finally watched once, and ever since then she's not once asked to come rail poker again.
