Drive through CoVid testing is being offered through UMC in the Orleans Parking structure.

You have to make an appointment online thru the umc website.

Whole testing process ,including waiting, took less than 15 minutes, run by the National Guard.

It will run thru Thursday, Definitely convenient.

No poker, 4-handed or otherwise.

Nasal swab (active infection) or blood test (antibodies)?
They give you any info on the accuracy of the tests (false positives, etc)?

Neither, they did a throat swab. (5 seconds)

Not an antibodies test ..... too bad. I'll probably get one of those if the "active" comes back negative.

This was not a conversation friendly environment, you kept your windows rolled up until just before the test itself. It was in a parking dtructure.

When you register and get the appointment you get a link for questions, you get results back online.

Wow. Wish they had that in Seattle. I've heard they won't take you unless you've had over 101 or 100 degree fever (threshold was moved down).

So they weren't letting anyone in, this was just in preparation for when they open?

No, this has NOTHING to do with the Orleans opening, or when, or not.

Their parking structure is simply the location where UMC and the National Guard are staging drive thru CoVid 19 testing, by appointment.

So G have you gotten your results back yet? Were you symptomatic or just curious if you could be an asymptomatic carrier?

I noticed the testing opportunity had arisen. I did want to find out if I were an asymptomatic carrier.

I'll also be interested regarding antibody testing, once it is deemed reliable (Prior to mid-March I did travel internationally on a regular basis (although not to Asia.)

Part of the Federal opening up deal is expanded testing, to the point of randomness if possible. AZ is doing "testing blitz" on the weekends to get as many people tested as possible.

AZ is also 51st (last, including DC) in number of tests administrated, as of earlier this week, at least.

I read on the internet, so it must be true.

In terms of testing per capita, Arizona is 46th out of 50 states; Nevada is 30th.

Meh, maybe. The majority of tests were administered by private labs, at least in the first several weeks. They only reported positive tests, not negatives. So nobody knows how many tests were actually administered.

Would you happen to know the hours it's open? I signed up already but need to call them back and schedule it and I'm on a mostly night schedule.

I've had a cough since 4/26 but no other symptoms. But sounds like you don't even need symptoms for this one yea?

https://www.reviewjournal.com/local/...virus%20Update

The testing, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, is free for anyone who doesn’t have insurance and is open to everyone, whether they have symptoms of the virus or not. Appointments can be made via UMC’s website at umcsn.com.

No symptoms required. (i.e. this is also "sentinel testing" of the population generally. Not sure of the statistical validity of that assumption by me tho, testing had an element of self-selection among people with no symptoms.

They collect a lot of info on you in the sign-up and match your id before the test. So, if you are positive, I expect they can follow up.

Call UMC's scheduling department, the day AFTER you have registered online

I got antibody tested through labcorp -- you can also get tests from Quest. The Labcorp test needs an order from your doctor, the Quest one does not (at least as of a week ago, I think I heard labcorp may also let people order on their own?) I got results back within 2 days, it's a full blood draw.

I don't know who makes the Quest test but I do know labcorp uses the Abbot Labs test. Abbot labs claims 100% sensitivity and 99.5% specificity -- this means zero false negatives and .5% false positives. The summerlin hospital labcorp was completely empty at the end of the day so the whole process took about 10-15min.

Thanks.... when I had last asked at Quest, they were not offering. Good to know.

Cost ? Insurance info required ?

So labcorp submitted mine to insurance, I did not pay anything at the time and don' t know what I'll ultimately pay. I recall that the self order one from Quest is $125 +/- $10 -- that's the advertised price without insurance so maybe yours could cover. I have heard people say bad things about Quest's accuracy (non doctors and purely anecdotal, who the hell knows. I would recommend finding out which test they are using and do some research)
