One question I know you wasn´t there for poker only but do you guys really think the Downtown tourney is the best ?
I mean at Aria they have a daily for 120 $ with 30 min levels
I don´t know I only can´t stand this 20 min levels tournaments.....
Also the V has some good tournaments money wise but you definitely has already checked them out maybe last year.
One short question you guys were all having a phone over there texting calling each other.... did you buy a prep. phone in LV or just working with your normal phone like at home ? was just wondering because the costs to phone or text in the US would be just crazy !?!?!
Anyway looking forward for the rest of your trip !!

The first three levels @ Binions are 20 minutes. All levels are 30 minutes after that and the stucture is the same as Aria. Very good. We played Aria on day 6 as it is indeed the best regular ~ $ 100,- tourney on the strip.

Caramba De Luna. I wake up at 10 AM feeling worse then ever. I remember thinking about how good I felt after all the wodka Red Bulls when I entered my bed. Boy, do these ****ers backfire or what? I get out of bed almost instantly because it doesn’t take me long to realize this hangover needs some serious help since it isn’t going anywhere on its own. The first things that come to mind are pills and food. I can’t remember eating anything besides breakfast yesterday and I’m staving. I walk to the bathroom for two Ibuprofen 400’s. The good stuff. I forgot to buy water the day before so now I’m forced to use the water coming out of IP’s pipes. It’s pretty much like drinking out of a children’s swimming pool at the end of long and hot summer day. Or so I imagine. I’m pleasantly surprised when I see Fratie left his stomach content in the sink after returning from his night of Clubbin’. Fun morning so far.
Despite having witnessed Fratie’s dinner – some sort of noodles, if I had to guess - floating around our bathroom I’m still starving. I call Hugo who barely has a voice but from what I can make up out of the conversation he’s in serious need for food as well. I don’t shower and just grab the nearest shirt available. I’m pretty sure the shirt is mine as it seems to fit. The nearest pants fit as well and don’t even try bending over to tie my laces as that will cause me to pass out for sure. On my walk from the room to the elevator I receive a text from Fratie. He’s awake an hungry. I left Fratie less then ten seconds ago. Sound asleep. I wouldn’t be able to type up a message that fast sober but Fratie does it in his sleep apparently.
I wait for Hugo at IP’s poker room but it the smell of the casino sickens me enough to walk up to his room. Baars is wide awake and I’m baffled to find out Baars got home minutes ago. After our night of PowerClubbin’ Baars decided four hours of blackjack would be a good after party. This guy!. The way Baars is laying bed is simply epic. The bed is made up perfectly and his head sticks out on top and apparently he doesn’t move an inch in bed. It’s like an undertaker put him there. I wouldn’t be able to sleep like that for a minute but seems to work for Baars. He must have gone to boarding school in his youth.
Lolwtfbbq
Hugo and I head for The Mirage because yesterday’s breakfast there was heavy and good. We haven’t said a word to each other on the way there since we’re both in zombie state of mind. I just sit in the restaurant trying really hard not to die as Hugo takes his usual 25 minutes to look at the menu and then order the simplest thing on the damn thing. Fratie arrives at the restaurant as well making me wait even longer for my food. At one point a waiter passes us by at his regular 50 mp/h pace but then suddenly hits the break. He walks back to our table, looks at us for a couple of seconds and then earns himself a huge tip by saying: “You boys want cocktails?”. Lol. We must really look like crap.
Yes, that bad.
When it’s time to pay for breakfast I look into my wallet and come to the conclusion that wodka Red Bulls probably aren’t free of charge in Vegas. Ouch. The walk of shame can no longer be avoided and for the first time ever I have to meet up with an ATM in Vegas. In 2009 and 2010 I used to know who to play poker and free roll all the way but those days are long gone and with a biggest win of friggin’ $ 18,- this trip isn’t going a planned moneywise. Oh well.
After breakfast I receive a text from Peltinho saying he’s feeling great and ready for beers. I feel the need to punch him. Hard. I agree to meet with him after a shower but regret that when I see Fratie settling himself in bed for a Family Guy Marathon with drinks and Pringles. The “boys” from last night are playing poker at Bills for some reason and Peltinho and I take a look. I pass the time scrolling trough Peltinho’s camera and find some pictures of last night of which I have zero recollection. Apparently Hugo and I where Clubbin’ it up with ZZ top.
No recollection what so ever.
I sit down in the 0.50/1 NL game because I can’t figure out what else to do. I receive my first Aces of this trip and manage to get them cracked in no time. I’m sure I’m beat on the 58JQ rainbow board but I don’t know if there’s an Aces Cracked bonus so I have to ask in the middle of the hand. There is one. Between 10 AM and 2 PM. It’s 02:00:01 obviously. I manage to get away and the woman shows me top two as if she’s showing me the nut low for a bluff…. What the hell I’m and I doing here anyway? Playing 0.50/1 with the scum of the earth sitting with $ 20,- stacks. I cash out and go to IP to join Fratie on his Family Guy Marathon after agreeing to meet at 8 PM for a group trip to The Hard Rock Hotel.
Family Guy
With Fratie
I spend the afternoon eating Nacho Cheese Doritos’s, sipping apple juice and watching some Mexican dude tying to fix our mysteriously clogged sink. During one of the Family Guy episodes the Billy Idol song “Dancing with myself” is on causing Fratie to start ‘dancing with himself’. He has no clue I’m filming the ritual till I tell him after about ten seconds.
Fratie 'dancing with himself'
After another shower I feel slightly human again when it’s time to gather for the Hard Rock trip. The Hard Rock hotel is cool obviously and with Fratie, Baars & Peltinho being music lovers a must visit on every trip. We could have stayed at The Hard Rock for the same price we are paying for IP which hurts a little walking around this lovely Casino. We have a group dinner without Bozzie who couldn’t contain himself and already ate.
After the mediocre dinner we cross the road towards KISS Monster Mini Golf. The reason we are going there this is pretty simple. We have a friend back home who’s a huge KISS fan and he would be pissed if we hadn’t checked the place out. To give you the cliff notes; you would have a hard time finding a chick at Bills at 4 AM that sucks as hard as KISS Monster Mini Golf.
You suck.
The place is a disaster. For starters, the KISS music makes you want to kill yourself after about two minutes but that’s a matter of taste. I want to play on the arcades for a bit but I have to buy a card to do so. I don’t want no card. I want to shoot some alien bastards at whatever the price but I don’t want no card. Jesus. The golf course itself is made for ******s. The black light is oke I guess but 10 out of the 18 holes can be scored in one straight line. The few lanes that have an obstacle can just a easily be taken with a beach ball as a golf ball. I want to quit after two lanes but that can only lead to new drinking activities so I decide to grind the course out hitting balls in random directions. After the golfing is over we buy a shirt for our friend and leave our number so that the executor can give us a call for some cheap KISS stuff for our buddy in about six months when the place inevitably goes bankrupt. Seriously, I hope there are A LOT of KISS fans and VERY FEW miniature golf courses in Vegas for the employees sake.
I can still hardly walk today as my foot is swollen and hurts like hell. There a big red dot on the right side of my foot that is killing me. Getting into my shoes takes me about 45 minutes. Back in the Hard Rock we can no longer avoid our fate; Corona’s. The limes for the Corona’s are way to big in this place. I have to stand on to bottle to get damn thing in causing me to cough up sour **** the entire drink.
!@#$%^&*()_
We arrive back at IP around 2 AM and Baars, Hugo, Peltinho, Fratie & Roeie sit down at the Dealertainers blackjack to grind rum and coke. I’m done for the day. We agree to meet for breakfast at the Mirage to watch the Champions League match between Barcelona and Milan before I head to my room.
OP, Keep up the great work. I have to ask a stupid question. Your command of written english is quite good and of course entertaining. Is this common for all your fellow countrymen? Most people I've run into from that area of Europe seem as though they can't speak/understand english very well.
@chekraze you have obviously never been to Holland or Germany!
Checkko's standard of written English may be somewhat above average for a Dutchman (or an Englishman/American for that matter!) but near-perfect English is routinely spoken throughout the region.
@Checkko; I sincerely hope that the VPC are planning a mid-year return to Vegas? I wouldn't want to have to wait a whole year for another season of trip reports!
Just using our regular phone. Just looked up the text we recieved in the US and a text message is € 0.42 only, so no biggie. Calling home is € 1.05 p/m and recieving calls € 0.64 p/m
Thanks for letting me know regarding the phones !!!!
Ok looks like the Binions tourneys are also not bad to play and maybe a lot softer field then at the Aria.... ok 100 $ tourneys should be soft regardless were you play
